Switch out the depo bulb holder for the OEM bulb holder. Thats the common fix i believe
I switched to the OEM holder without issue but USR said to bend out the contact points with a screwdriver to resolve the provided one. Haven't tried it yet.

And with that, Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight!
Is your turn signal working still? I have a similar problem on the driver side. No matter how many times I changed the bulb, it still doesn't lite up. I even tried swapping the bulb housing with the one on the factory headlight.

Does anyone know what the issue might be?

Ok, I just fixed the issue. I have swapped with factory housing after bending both inner and outer contacts. Pushing the housing into the socket tight before turning it clockwise made it work.

My story regarding these headlights

After about 10 hours of effort, my projectors are installed and sitting nearly perfect. I took the bumper off twice. The second time was to correct alot of things( adjusting the bottom encased nuts for better beam pattern, adjusting the bumper to decrease the gap between the hood and bumper). The second time i also got a better view of how the bulbs are secured inside the housing.

Within the 10 hours, I also installed LED headlights and turn signals. The LEDs needed adaptors to sit securely in the housing. All of the LEDs needed to be coded due to flickering and malfunction notices of the dash. I mistaking coded the FEM_BODY module without the car being in ACC mode, and corrupted the files on the module. So i had to recode everything twice lol. I also coded the amber LED turn signals to ONLY come on(blink) when I signal a turn(so they don't come on when my parking lights or low beams are active). Its a cleaner look to me.

If i were to give someone tips on installation(besides what everyone else has stated on his thread), i would say make sure you have a ratchet screwdriver. When i didnt have alot of space(encased nuts), it came in handy big time.

These headlights are a true game changer. I originally had halogens and 393 style wheels, then I picked up these headlights and a set of 397 style wheels with new tires for $600. I feel as if my 328 is on another level now from when I originally got it!

Craigslist. A guy sold his f30 335 with custom 19" wheels and just had his 397s sitting in his garage collecting dust. I gladly took them off his hands lol.

Has anybody compiled a list of H7 HID kits that people have been using on these headlights? I figured any PY21W turn signal would work well enough since it's just a bulb. But the HID kit needs to be better built.

the h7 bulb bracket/holder i had to buy
i don't know if they have one specific for f30
but looks like it should be the same
call and ask
Just get this kit and call it a day
I didn't have to code anything
No errors
Auto headlight works perfectly
The 5500k is just slightly bluer than the stock xenon which is very white with just a hint of blue
I had a side by side comparison last night

Hi folks,
It seems that these xenons are great, but they are just not made for the beginners
Is there any other model which I can buy to get exact look like like this one? I just need them to be plug'n'play with reasonable price...

Kind regards!

They aren't too bad to install honestly. I'm fairly new to the car and BMW world and achieved this install by myself in about 4 hours. The encased nuts wouldn't hold still, so it took a lot of pressing against them to get my passenger side light out. No condensation or errors since my install, going on about a month now.

Auto headlight works fine

I did need to buy the H7 bulb holder brackets

I will post more photos when I get to my laptop on Monday
But here's the finished product

Finished product by J. Edward Kim, on Flickr
Car looks 100x better now
Worth every penny and time invested

Some issues
One headlight had a small black plastic speck stuck on the inside of the headlights lens
Not a deal breaker but annoying
I may reach out to USR about it

The driver side plug for the headlights wire harness... is on the "wrong" side
But it's easy to deal with by undoing some of the tape holding the harness and giving it some more slack to reach

It took a lot of adjusting to get the headlights to sit right
Still not 100% but good enough

I will need to adjust the headlights to aim a little cleaner
the cutoff could definitely look better

Hey man - would you mind showing up some pics of the HIDs installed on this headlight (in the back of the headlight?

Does it involve cutting a hole in the headlight cover to insert the HID? What size hole?

Would 4500K HID be closer to the OEM headlight color of white?

If you had to make of the tools that are required to make this installation happen, what would they be? Any unique tools (other than ratchet screwdriver comment above) that would make this install easier?

Thanks!!!

When I look at this post, it just doesn't seem to be so easy.

I'm just looking for a system without buying and instaling bulbs, hids, praying for no errors and coding. Just plug'n'play. Is there any solution like that instead of OEM?

Kind regards!

The only hard part in installing these lights is getting the front bumper of if its your first time doing so. Otherwise its a really straightforward job to do, each headlight is held in place i think by 3 or 4 screws and the only hard part in that is getting them of since they are so tight.

Replacing the bulbs is a 10/10 on the east scale and replacing them with halogens will give you no error codes, ive read in some cases people who used HIDs and still got no error codes. The only other options are OEM or Umnitza LED headlights but those are 1700$.

Yeah, if you're going to keep halogens, then trust me, this is as easy as it gets. This was my first time doing it and my first time taking off my bumper and I got it. You take off the bumper, four screws and unplug it. Reverse for install, plug-n-play and no errors. As for HID, it's gonna require you screw a hole somewhere to wire the bulb. I've thought about doing it through the rubber cap and then putting sealant around it.

Like mentioned, if you want anything easier, it's gonna have to be installed by someone else or you're gonna have to shell for expensive ones that will still require you to take apart your bumper and install. I'd honestly order these and give it a go. While not ideal, you could do this with only hand tools. Worst comes to worst, you take it to someone to have them install it.

Hey guys I am looking to get these headlights plus HID for my headlights. Can anyone tell me which HID bulbs I can get in order to avoid errors in my car...I really hate these errors.

Also, If I understand correctly, there are no errors once these are installed? and I think someone said I would have to cut up a hole in the house to fit the HIDs?

Anyone, please help.

It's H7 for the F30s and regardless, you're gonna have to get a relay harness to keep it from throwing errors, otherwise you'll have to code. And yes, you will have to put a hole in the cap or somewhere else to put the wiring through. I haven't done it yet, but there's a rubber cap that you may able to punch it through and then seal up.

Just picked up an F30 for the wife and couldn't stand looking at the lights, so started searching and am so glad I found this thread. OMG big difference! All the car with this mod looks like proper BMWs. I'm placing my order tonight and will perform the swap this weekend.
Thanks for all the great write ups and tips.
Mod bug bit me. Next will be tires and tint

Question - when installing aftermarket HIDs with the Angel eyes (in a car that was originally with halogens), do you recommend getting a relay harness as to not power them directly from the electrical system (direct battery connection). This is what I did on cars in the past - not sure if I would have to do this for my F30...
