Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Cold Tire Pressures (Daily + Track)
Can anyone give me a good starting point to work from?
I switched over from 225/45 RFT tires which I ran 39/46. I'm currently running 34/36 as a starting point but from what I've been reading most people are running this tire pressure HOT. |

Yeah you'll be around 35psi hot. I was at the track this weekend with another member (435i) and took some pyrometer measurements for him since he said his 4S were starting to feel greasy. Around 35 is where we ended up for him.
I'd put your starting cold pressures around 29-30ish and see where it ends up. |

1) OEM sticker front / back 32/38 PSI 2) PS4S Street Front / back 34 / 39 PSI 3) PS4S Track Session 1 Front / Back 32 / 36 4) PS4S Track Session 2 Front / Back 30 / 34 PS4S is great probably the best street tire but unfortunately it is not great for track. Mine went past the optimal operation temp very quickly on track (3-4 laps / over 130F). Keep an eye on the temp and take cool down lap once it gets greasy probably you best option. |

40 psi too high?
I just changed to PS4S on an F80 M3--255/35/19 and 275/35/19. Noticeably better than the stock Conti Sport Contacts. I am only street / road driving, not track.
My service guy at the dealership recommended running them at 40F/40R, which I am running now. Think that is too high? I am also in hot Arizona, where they will run up to about 43 during driving. What do you recommend? |
