WoW!
Currently watching all the release info and videos. I know it has weaknesses but I really like it. Shame it gets quite a price bump coming to the UK. (Will now be factory RHD too). Over there. mid engine 6.2L V8 0-60 less than 3s. Cheap mans lambo maybe. The row of buttons on the interior could be ... interesting but overall, what a package. One last I.C.E hurrah anyone?

Saw a video on it today. Looks great. Brand new mid engine design, first year of production and a GM car. These are predictors of a bunch of recalls and design problems. I would wait a few years till they get the major bugs out.

bonkers bargain

When it's a striking design I find my eyes drawn to what doesn't work, like all these panel gaps in a small area.

Not saying they can't access the engine, just that this part of the design looks clumsy.

My only beef with the new Corvette is that it seems very colour dependent. the red ones look like cheap and nasty novelty pencil sharpeners. Cars in the bronze and bluish grey colours look stunning by comparison. |

That is some car for the money, genuinely most of its competitors are near double. What an absolute beast!

Production, like everything paused of course. Also initial production had some union delays.
Starting to wonder is this will make it to the U.K after all. Seeing more Auz and Japan RHD references recently. The RHD model has been out and about, the usual test car pic releases. Reviews have generally been fantastic, US pretty fortunate to get this under $60k 2021 or never I guess. How would dealer franchise start up again? Try to ignite a hook up with Vauxhall? Corsa's sold alongside these. I guess that divorce is done and dusted. Other options the Clive Sutton's of the U.K.? Going to be interesting.

Look forward to seeing these in the flesh next year? Looks great in the photo's but Chevy's can look really cheap with the extensive use of plastic body panels.
Not sure a V8 is a good idea in a non premium manufacturer like Chevy (especially in the UK with no existing dealer/workshop network). I'm imagining a low skilled mechanic sprawled out working on the engine and scratching the hell out of the rear panels. Porsche have the flat 6 which allows most jobs to be done from underneath, I think the only job that requires the top cover removal on mine is when a coolant change is required. Will look forward to the UK reviews rather than the American ones and finding out how it handles, it's a tad heavy at 1700kg. |

Semi exotic looks without crazy prices. 6.2L V8 to purchase just before ICEs are killed off Visible engine bay Targa top is quite a bonus, best of all worlds, especially in the U.K. Price aside I can't think of a reason not to get one. Ok availability and jt actually being on sale here. Ok and dealer network. I'm also very very interested.

Totally agreed. The Targa top was a wonder with the Stingray. We could even get all our luggage and the roof in the back when we were between hotel stops!
This could be a 'last hurrah' Man Maths moment for me if it indeed does come over here and doesn't burst the bubble with a ridiculous price (fingers crossed!). Very excited if it all comes together |
