Yeah, think I was doing 140km/h as had slowed down about 1km from the Peage when I got zapped, so less than 10% above the speed limit, but that is reflected in the lower fine which feels quite reasonable.
It was a gendarme with a speed gun, so dread to think what might have happened if I'd been caught at the speed I'd been cruising at for the previous 2 hours!

They don’t publicise it widely but I’m pretty sure the tolerance is only 5kmh, probably less on rural roads. I always put the cruise control at 136 to use up the over-read (yeah, rage against the machine) but anything over that is chancing it.

I think I’d edged up to 139 on cruise thinking that’d be enough margin with over-read and tolerance. Ticket was either 135 or 136 when it came through.
