Have you ever sat inside the M8?

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but the proportions of the 8 look off to me. It looks too "squished" along the horizontal axis, about as much as the new G60 is "tall". I think the G30s were a really good balance of all design elements.
This one is squish?
And what kind of car you are driving to be compared?

They really stand out in traffic; obviously not for those who prefer not to attract a lot of attention. I was briefly thinking about buying one someday (IIRC they're not outrageously expensive used), but I don't live in a city with a bunch of flashy cars and I'm having second thoughts.
Too flashy for my tastes, but a great looking car. Same for the M850. Would definitely take one over any of the understeery V8 offerings on the 5er platform.

No clue how it drives and it's way out of my price range anyway, but I absolutely love the look of the Alpina edition B8 in Alpina green.

It's nice but is it the interior that different from say a G30 5-series aesthetically? A bit on the simple side imo. Reminds me of how the new Maserati Gran Turismo's interior design is hardly different from that of a $70k Grecale.

Merc AMG GT and SL interiors have a little more panache.

Well, so much for my fear of going one car too many...

Bought this new 2024 M8 Competition Coupe Tuesday.

Same width and height as my 2023 M2. But about 9" longer. Oh and heavier of course. M8: 4295lbs; M2: 3814lbs.

M8 comfort, ride, handling, interior, dash layout, etc., all are quite exceptional.

The M8 doesn't feel any "bigger" than my M2.

Given the more rounded/sloped nose of the M8 the view out of the car over the nose is better than that of the M2.
