As I wrote earlier, 9C BMW Apps FSC Code is of no use anymore as BMW AG has discontinued the ConnectedDrive App, so it wont work.

I would like to point out that your BMW Apps FSC codes are still valuable, especially now that the subscription services for older 3G cars have shut off. Even though the official BMW Connected app has shut down and MyBMW does not provide the previous BMW Apps features, MyBMW still establishes the Apps connection to the car to update car information in the app without using the ConnectedDrive cloud connection. Additionally, the old BMW Connected app (available from various Android APK sites) still connects to the car even without the user being able to log in, and AAIdrive can use either of these app connections to add its features to the car.

Please continue your generous work of sharing BMW Apps FSC codes for these users

Hi. Good to hear from you. I am quite familiar with your AAIdrive, and thanks for developing it. I am actually using it with my Note8 in my F06 with ID6 EVO Head Unit and 6AK ConnectedDrive Services, so without the need for a 9C FSC Code.

Just so I am clear though, AAIdrive will also work without 6AK ConnectedDrive Services so long as :

1. Car has 9C FSC Enabling Code
2. Car has 6NR BMW Apps Coding
3. Car has either old ConnectedDrive .apk App or new MyBMW App

And for iPhone users, they are out in the cold?

I'm not quite certain of the specifics of BMW coding. My experience, over in Mini land, is that the car just comes with the Apps feature or not and no subscription seems to even be hinted at. This leads me to believe that the coding option must still exist in IDrive, even in BMW land with the normal subscription method.
And so, I appreciate your experience and knowledge in this! If there is some more confident wording to including in the app or description for users to know ahead-of-time that their car is compatible, please let me know!

My understanding of the app connection is:

1. Something about the car triggers the MyBMW/BMWConnected app to start the BCL connection to the car, either over USB or Bluetooth SPP. I believe MyBMW includes a Bluetooth address check to only start connecting to cars that are in your "Garage", but BMWConnected doesn't seem to care.
2. AAIdrive detects the case where the connection doesn't succeed because the car is expecting the Apps connection from, say, the USB connection and the phone is trying to connect over Bluetooth. I don't know how the connection reacts if the subscription/coding is not enabled, but might be similar.
3. Once MyBMW/BMWConnected is connected, it starts up a local TCP port on the phone for other apps to talk to.
4. AAIdrive connects through this port and generally reliably works great after this point.

I believe the iPhone connection is the same. I've sniffed the iPhone USB connection and I can see the same traffic, but I don't know how the specifics on how the other apps talk through the connection. It seems harder to downgrade the apps on iPhone too, which removes the option of installing the older BMWConnected app. :\

Ok. I can only say that for BMW Apps to work with old ConnectedDrive App, it was one of two ways:

1) 9C FSC Code and 6NR BMW Apps Coding - Connection via USB
2) No FSC Code (enabled via Provisioning of Vehicle SIM Card) and 6AK ConnectedDrive Services Coding - Connection via BT

FYI — I never de-installed the old BMW Connected app when I added My BMW to my iPhone. It worked for a decent while in parallel, but now Connected no longer launches at all. Not on current OS or on older iPhone/OS. (Backend is dead Jim)

You retrofitted NBT2. What did you use for FSC Code solution? Feature Installer?

Sorry man I have no idea about it since my friend done the installation for me and the hardware seller code it thru my friend's laptop with remote session... i ve heard something like esys

All your FSC Codes are from App called Feature Installer. If you need BMW Apps, your installer needs to fix 9C FSC code. The BimmerCode issue though has nothing to do with 9C FSC code, rather the issue is it does not work on any Head Unit once Feature Installer is used. The Developer is aware of it and will not fix it. You can Code NBT2 with E-Sys instead.
