I let my CD sub lapse last week. Presumably it is trivial to re-sub once the new portal (and new services) launch here?

Hello

With the online store, you will be able to renew and upgrade your ConnectedDrive services.

You will need your username and password in order to log in (these are the same credentials as what are used to log into the Remote App).

What's involved in getting connected drive added to my 2014 328ix? I do have BMW Assist, and NBT with navigation.

Right now it would involve visiting or speaking to your retailer. They can either renew or upgrade your services depending on what you currently have.

When the new ConnectedDrive online store is launched, you will be able to do this online from the comfort of home. The system will tell you what your car has and what is eligible for. You can also manage your account and update your contact information, username and password management.

If you want to send me the last 7 of your VIN, I can tell you what you currently have and how long it is valid for.

Chill out buddy, he said in September - not September 1st. Not sure what your background is but all IT projects have multiple variables before go-live actually happens so it may push out a little bit. As canadian33 alluded too, there is a lot of complexity, coding, testing, dry runs, etc between the back-end and front-end. It may look like a website but there is a LOT of work that needs to be done for a net new development like this. We are lucky that canadian33 is telling us about the new portal and showing us screenshots, most project teams aren't so nice and willing to give previews/info to the general public.

Yes, but there are some hardware and software requirements. Based on the VIN, the store will assess if it your vehicle is eligible and if so provide the option to add it.

Excited too see this. This will surely help with the amount of irate customers that wish to renew ConnectedDrive services but have to go into or speak to a BMW retailer. The possibility of being able to download apps such as CarPlay is huge for people that didn't elect the option at time of purchase (of course, if supported hardware is there).

That unfortunately is fake news. To be fair, up to 2016 that was the case. However, we switched our call center provider and renewals and upgrades were out of scope.

The above is also our main motivation for implementing the online store.

I know we are getting close to the end of September, but I promise you will see the store before the end of the month.

A bit off topic, but do you know if it's possible to change which dealer my teleservices call goes to? My salesman didn't know how (or didn't want) to do that.

Yes, you will be able to manage this from within the new ConnectedDrive store. Currently you would need to visit a retailer and have them submit a new ConnectedDrive contract with new preferred teleservice retailer.

We are pushing hard and will actually release the store to the forum first for some initial feedback. Look for that in an upcoming post.
