What are the best things you have coded?

So I recently did some coding using Bimmercode and it has certainly opened my eyes to what is possible to code and what else the car can do.

I have done the following:

One touch close for the tailgate from key fob
Close tailgate from button in the cabin
Fold and unfold the wing mirrors on locking and unlocking
Removed I drive disclaimer
Added the M Performance animation
added digital speed and changed to actual speed

I think there were a couple more but can't remember of the top off my head. there are also a few more I would like to add but think I may have to go in to expert mode for this, such as increasing the amp from the USB ( my phone is hardly charging!! ), car starting with auto wipers on and remember the position of the auto high beams/adaptive headlights to name a few.

Anyway I have trawled through alot of threads to see all the different things people have coded and wondered what your favourite things were that you have added

and go........

Is car starting with auto wipers even possible with coding? Wouldn't you just leave the wiper stalk in the first up position (with green LED) for auto wipers on all the time?

Anyway two of the best things I coded: drivers Easy Seat Entry, and radio off on door opening.

Or maybe I should have said code it to remember the last setting for auto wipers. maybe its not possible but hope someone can clarify this.

Did you use Bimmecode and if so was the Easy Seat Entry in the expert mode?

Yes, used expert mode in Bimmercode for Easy Seat Entry. It's in the last Seat Module Driver ECU at the bottom (iOS app). Only 3 lines need coding.

Garage List
Disable ASD
Disable Nav Disclaimer
Remember ASS setting
Digital Speedo

I did some other stuff as well but those are the most important/beneficial IMO.

This is a great thread for the DIYs & Coding Discussion section!

I'm about to commit to the Bimmercode app, but need to find the proper wifi/OBD II gizmo. I don't understand what some of the coding options accomplish, so will need to do more reading. What is Easy Seat Entry? We have Comfort Access on the '13 328i xDrive.

My favorite changes were turning off the disclaimer and stopping the radio from going down to 25% volume when I start the car. That volume thing really annoyed me.

I have coded a bunch of things, some of which like enable side cameras while driving that I don't even use. The ones I would say are an absolute for me are: Disable disclaimer, fold mirrors with CA/fob, full brightness angel eyes and disable seatbelt chime( I always wear a belt when driving but sometimes when I'm moving the car in the driveway or in a barren lot that noise was annoying).

I always check around for anything else of interest.

disable front corner running lamps. Makes the front end look much cleaner with just angle eyes.

yup.

it just turns off the running corner lights when you run parking lights or full headlights. Obviously blinkers still go on as intended.

I like the clean look.

My favorite is the Rolls Royce sound scheme. Warning chimes and PDC sounds are much less annoying.

Got to be enhanced Bluetooth and iDrive 6 Lite. My car came with ID5.

So EHB is great. Everything works great - music streaming, dual phones, Office functionality and so on. Also, with ID6 Lite coded, I get album art from Bluetooth with my new iPhone 8. I moved from a 6 recently and that was glitchy. The new phone is just works.

I've also coded; startup animation, indicator blink numbers, day running rear LEDs, and some other bits.

That said, I had the car in with my dealer for some warranty work (creaky seals issue) and they updated the car's ECU. Doing so reset all my coding so I had to do it again. No biggie. I did code out some of the obvious changes before dropping it in tho.

Overall, Bimmercode is the best €30 I've ever spent...

I used the setup already posted here by different users. Working thru the list, some items were already active. Worked a treat for me. An early MY2017 330E with ID5 Nav Pro.

This is for electric seats which basically moves back the driver seat when you open the door to give you more room to get out.

When you get back in, the seat moves back to the driving position when you turn on the ignition.

Enhanced USB/BT was a major one. Getting rid of corner lamps was nice. Also rolling up/down the windows with the key fob has come in handy.

Enhanced Bluetooth and Auto-folding mirrors was most important for me.

Also coding so I can have high beams on with fog lights.

Has to be SAT for me. Followed up with radio turns off when door is opened. Not a fan of having to press the button twice. Finally would be using the LED tubes in back as blinkers. It's unique and always catches other BMW drivers eye.

Why is this not in the coding section? You'd probably get 10x more responses there. Plus if you search there you'll be able to see where too ask the questions you are talking about.

On the passengers side mirror dipping angle on reverse, what have people coded? The default (3B = 59 degrees) and Bimmercode option (55 = 85 degrees) do not work for me. I am currently on 2B (= 43 degrees I think) coded under expertmode.

On my previous non-BMW, I could program the angle by adjusting the mirror when in reverse. Why can't BMW have the mirror programmable this way?

Forgot to mention that this is another of my top codings.

yeah i love this feature and certainly saves those wheels when the other half gets to drive the car! You should see her wheels!!!!!

I have mine set to 85 but I was told that if you put it in reverse and push the switch over to the passenger wing mirror and adjust it to the angle you want, put into drive and then switch it back to drivers side next time you go into reverse it will tilt to your desired position! However this did not work for me!

Any pics or videos of the LED tubes in the back? Sounds cool and yes this should probably be in the coding section my bad, will look to get it moved.
