Fuel smell in cabin

Had my fuel pump finally fixed for the recall - didn't drive the car for a while after the fix but jumped back in it a few weeks later. The smell of gasoline in the cabin is crazy. It dissipates when the car is on for a bit but when it's parked overnight, it is back in full force when I sit in it.

Anyone have a similar issue? Diagnosis? BMW said the fuel pump looks fine.

Hmmm, once aired out you should be fine. Local dealer uprated with a few Dinan bits and had brief smell, went away in a few days and that was that. Maybe your installer didn't 'seat' the parts well, as i believe the access is under the passenger seats.

Spray in some Ozium and let sit overnight. See how it is after a few days.

How much fuel was in the tank when you had the pump recall done? They have to access the pump under the back seat if I remember right from what my service advisor said when I had it done. He had me wait to bring the car in until I was down to less than a quarter of a tank. I drove home with the windows down and moon roof open, but honestly don't remember any lingering smell.

There must be a fuel leak due to improper installation. A loose fitting somewhere.

Hopefully they didn't cut a line by accident and you have a pinhole leak, such as what would happen to the E9X fuel filter lines over time and create this same issue..
