How upset would you be if someone crashed into your car? Now chill out. Have a drink and wait for Tuesday.

Good to hear this. I know just how you feel. I was gutted for days on end.
At least yours has not gone to bare metal as mine has. It will cover up beautifully and you will not notice it. But remember to shake the paint well so that the metal particles are well dispersed. Shake for at least 5 minutes and as Nick has said keep the touch up paint at room temperature. It will flow better. Also as Nick has said, get a thin artist's brush. Don't use the brush that comes with the paint as it is too thick.

I have a touch up ordered from my dealer. I will pick it up next week. Hopefully it won't be any more than £30. I ordered it and never thought to ask the price.

I think it costs between £10 and £15. Have you got stone chips to fix?

If you to any decent bodyshop and they should be able to mix you up some paint. This should be better than the touchup kits.
BMW OEM Paint (i.e. what they use in the factories) is Glasurit Line 90. The colour code for EBII is B45. I would be tempted to use a very fine artist brush. |

Wow I'm not being funny mate and I know we can all be a bit zealous over our shiny new cars, but really? Talk about "First World Problems"! I bet that tiny chip of paint missing on the edge is pretty much invisible to 99.99% of people who see your car....and anyway get a good layer of dirt and road grime on it and it will definitely be gone.
So far in 6 months I have acquired two car park dings, 3 stone chips on the bonnet, a chip in the wind screen and a good scuff on the back air damn where someone caught it with a load of wood. All considered "normal wear and tear" when the car goes back for change in a short while. |

For the price and small area I would just pop in to dealers and get some there.
I have had touch ups done for free before (lol sounds bad). I managed to introduce my mondeo to an exceptionally sharp and pointy object, car lost and had a 6 inch line on inner side of door sill (roof part). Popped to my dealer for advice and paint match, explained how it happened. Guy there did it for me, cost for touch up zero, street Cred below zero lol. |

bit late as you've already ordered the touch up pen from BMW.
but i always use this company for touch up paint. i repainted the complete side skirt on my Monaco blue E90 a while back and have a black sapphire scratch and chip kit for my current car, and colour match was spot on. they are well rated on other BMW and car detailing sites. and do scratch and chip kits. http://www.paints4u.com/ProductDetai...productID=6912 pdf guide: http://www.paints4u.com/pdffiles/Scr...ster%20Kit.pdf |

Cheap is not always good. That kit includes paper for wet/dry sanding which you certainly do not want to do.
The best paint would come mixed from a bodyshop - particularly if it's one of the major paint lines they have. |

That certainly looks through the top and base coats. The rule of thumb is if you rub your nail over it and feel it catching, then it can't be polished out.
It's such a small area, you'll hardly ever notice it. |

I was looking at my car just now. It had a new front bumper last year together with a new Xenon. The paint on the bumper is a slightly darker colour to that on the bonnet and it is now really bugging me. I was told by the BMW Body Shop that they cannot get an exact match between plastic and metal paintwork. They really should have blended-in the two surfaces IMO. I'll go there tomorrow and complain.
