Anyone else get e30 fuel pump cut outs?
Hey all, today I was giving it gas (wot) and I had fuel pump cut outs. I was going around 60 mph when the car cut back and I heard two super loud pops and power was cut off. I am on the OTS e30 map, anyone else experience this?

I’m not tuned through BM3- I’m with Mission Performance, but I experience this only when I add too much e85. Even with the help from meth injection I still get the cuts. Best advice I can offer to you is to pump maybe .2-.5 gallons less and see how it runs from there. You don’t have many other options at the moment besides WMI/CPI. Hopefully we’ll be able to get some better fuel pumps soon

Hey bacon_45 any logs of when it happened? Did you have a drivetrain error? If so what code and did you have, did you have to clear the code to reset the fuel pressure or did it just dump boost close the throttle and then go back to normal?
I've had cuts from the high pressure fuel pump dropping too low with too much boost and E30 and E40 and also had a different one recently related to low pressure fuel pump "adaptions outside of valid range" when testing an E40 set up. The HPFP ones self re-set the LPFP adaption one set a code 11A030 and I had to clear it using the MHD tool then everything went back to normal.

One thing I’ve experienced with the E30 flash is that as soon as I hit reserve (49 miles to empty), I don’t make full power anymore. The car is markedly slower and I can only hit around 360 on the power guage. As soon as I fill back up, I’m back to the full 480 and the car’s back to full power.

I’ve had it happen to me a couple times when I was running E36 in the first week or so of switching to the E30 map. Now I just run as close to E30 as I can and I haven’t experienced it again. I guess it depends on your HPFP.

I believe I experienced my first fuel pump cut out tonight. Was in sport+ M3 and I floored it and the car pulled then stuttered and pulled a little more than power went kind of dead and a warning came up saying drivetrain malfunction and power output reduced. I pulled over and turned the car off then turned it back on and the message came up again, but I did some pulls in 5th and it felt fine.
What I didnt realize was that it was 52f outside and after I got home I turned on my Dragy and DA was -227. I can only imagine how bad the HPFP dipped.

That hasn't happened to me, but when the fuel cut happens do not push through it. As soon as you hear feel the stuttering and the low pops, stop giving it gas. Those CEL's are worrying to be fair..

Drove to work this morning and the car is perfectly fine. Used BM3 to read codes again and nothing is there. To me, it seems anything under 60f will crash the HPFP. No worries though, CPI kit should be in today.

Get an ethanol test kit so you know what the E85 content is and then use an E85 calculator. I personally use one that uses excel, i'll attach a link below if you'd like to download it.

My fuel mix usually puts me at about E35-E36 (rather be safe than sorry). The whole issues with throttle closure is definitely a tuning issue on PTF side. I thought I was the only one with this problem but other forum members have said the same thing happens on the Stg 2 93 map as well. Not sure why PTF has the boost spike so high instead of it ramping up in a linear fashion. Another issue is that I am running straight piping from the turbo back (ER Catless DP + MPPSK Exhaust) which is definitely not helping the boost spike issue. I even get low burbles in comfort mode and slight pops. Again, from what i've read and talked with other forum members, its due to being straight pipped. Regardless, I havent had any fuel pump cut issues until the weather dropped into the 50s. Even in the 60s it comes close but still holds. Anyway, I was supposed to get my oil changed Monday at the dealer, but had to postpone it until tomorrow. I've talked with my mechanic and we are going to install the CPI kit next weekend. Once it's installed, I'll get to work with F80Paul and then post a full review.

My thoughts are Stage 1 + disable cat monitoring is the same as stage 2 and *could* fix your issue. |

Had a first fuel cut today on pump 93.
Range was quite low - just under 50miles. Drivetrain malfunction came on at WOT 6.5k rpm. Cleared active codes and refuelled, all seems good now. https://datazap.me/u/m140bcs/log-158...41-42-43-44-48 |
