Rusty section at lower front.

Hello everyone, I have a 2014 model F31 320d vehicle and there is rust on the lower front part as in the photo. What should I use to remove this rust and how should I paint it afterwards? Unfortunately, I am not experienced in this matter, I hope there is someone who can help me with what I should do. Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to answer.

That's normal, unfortunately. I have a can of spray undercoating on hand. Whenever I have reason to lift the car and I see rust I spray it. There's no need to remove it unless it's flaking, when deprived of air further oxidation can't occur.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I just bought "Ospho 605 Metal Treatment Stops Rust" from ebay. I think it will do the job. Can you recommend me a macra or product for spray liner? Thanks.

I've never tried a rust treatment other than on my lawnmower.

I use this on my car: https://www.amazon.com/3M-03584-Prof...9&gad_source=1

For a 10 year old car - this is NOTHING. Beyond normal. Come live in a humid environment and you'll see such surface rust just a few months into ownership.

The vehicle came from France about 2 years ago. I live in Latvia and the winter here is really terrible. The underside of the car is really good and my goal is to keep it that way.

Lucky that you don't have as much salt on the roads in winter time like we do here in Canada - destroys the underbody. Some provinces (Quebec) are the worst for that.
