Seat cushion solution for back/hip pain

They are called "Ultragel" from Amazon. I know, very dorky, but works excellent!

What is the reason for this pad? What does it solve?

I'm asking for a friend.

Will give these a try for my next road trip. I currently use a memory foam unit for my back. I would like to feel how the lower cushion that this provides works out. Anything to help long trips is a blessing.

ULTRAGEL "OH SO Soft" All Purpose Personal Comfort Gel Pad SSG (Super Soft Gel) (1... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079VX7271..._IYMnEbEXW9D5J

I can't find the big one pictured as the seat cushion, I recommend calling the company. They seemed very mom and pop when I called them. The pads are held in place by gorilla double sided tape, the clear one not the black one.

The picture shows more than one pad. One (perhaps two) with a shiny finish covers the seat and lower back, the other with a matte finish covers the upper back. The latter looks like the one in the above link.

They are all different sizes of the linked pad. The finish is the same, it's just that the upper back pad was almost new when the picture was taken, as opposed to all the other pads which had some wear.

It was a bit of an evolution. First I ordered a seat cushion, then a bigger seat cushion, then the lower back pad, then the upper back pad. And with each pad the seating got more comfortable and the reality set in that I'm 40.

The Ultragel cushion I ordered just arrived; I'm using this as bottom cushion in my 2012 X3 sport seats, I have base model car so I've got the cheapest leather which is kind of stiff.

This REALLY FEELS GOOD, and it's quite thin - going to give it an little test drive this afternoon; I think it's going to do a good job of cushioning my 68 year old butt!

My 70 year old butt is self-cushioned.
