Seems to me the wild west stuff used to be more contained to contentious subjects though, whereas now there's crap infecting even innocuous threads. Interesting one for the mods as it's maybe spilling over that way because of all the stuff that's now off limits!

The days of Lobb and brigand, mofomat etc...were very funny some real friday night slagging matches.

In the politics section on the main forum it was very heated, however all that has gone now, still there is still the cool pics thread

They were great times, was sat crying with laughter on many an occasion, managed to get banned and set up OneExtra

I think Tony DarthHelmut, HelmutVisor etc etc was quality also

People nowadays need tampons and resilience training

What stuff do bought?

I was pretty lucky and happy with Currys as I had a 'free' guarantee at purchase for the Samsung via Currys.

Usually I'd go JL but I had gift cards etc.

Anyhow the TV started to flicker just 2 months before the 5 years so after a ding dong with Samsung and Currys - knowhow Picked it up.

A week later I called to be told sir we can't recreate the fault! But you have panel bleed so it may be wrote off. 3 days later I get a gift card for 1800!

I then got the c1 after a price match (Sevenoaks) from 2300 to 2100 at Currys and was delighted. Next day I see it's dropped to 1800 at prcdirect so I ping Currys. They won't match as it's a c16 model not a c14 (white back to Tv) so she agreed to match their new price of 2000 and I expected 100 back.
She then states 300 back on a gift card! (Mistake perhaps) and to cut a long boring story short I am getting the beast for gratis!!

After the horror stories with Currys I am delighted to say the least.

How are you finding the TV?
That was lucky!

I got mine on 'promotion' with £100 off, and Currys surprisingly was the cheapest around! I couldn't go bigger than 48" simply due to living room dimensions.

This TV is such an improvement on the old one though! Incredibly deep blacks, 4k content is superb! Sound is adequate, but better than the old TV which had weak sound. I don't have much room for a soundbar. Goes well with the PS4 Pro and 4k Netflix sub. The remote is good, but the mouse pointer is a bit fiddly.
Sorry missed the reply. Glad you are happy I'm very impressed too. Been trying to get the right settings - hdtvtest and rtings seem to be a good source.

Out of the box didn't have to do much.

I changed my sky q box to HDR but annoyingly there is a bug on the sky W q box that it won't accept 10 bit colour and needs a reboot.

I must say a 'perfect Planet' UHD on iPlayer is incredible and a good showcase for the TV similarly 'our planet' on Netflix is amazing using Dolby vision and atmos.

have you found CHEP for the bed levelling?
look for magigoo when the corners lift.
look up octo print for a great monitor for your prints.
and bl touch upgrade if you think you might not have a perfect bed (who does!)

Got a Lancia Delta Integrale Tamiya, took ages to get it working right, but seems to be ok now! Just hoping the components last more than a few goes!

To the OP:

I fly RC planes. Expensive hobby. Also got a DJI mavic pro. Lost one in a lake and replaced it with another. Bought a beer and wine fridge. Now I need to build a home bar for it. Love tech but am too cheap to buy a legit computer. I just buy used.

I've bought another now!

I have an Egress and Super Astute that I've recently bought and found my childhood Dirt Thrasher & Baja Champ on a visit back to my parents house over the summer.

Expensive hobby!
