Aftermarket M-Sport kit help (Las Vegas area)
So, I have the entire M-Sport kit sitting in my garage. It's the aftermarket kit found on eBay but it looks legit and has received great reviews. Anyways, I'm looking to get it painted Melbourne red and installed on my wife's 328. I just called 10 places in the greater Las Vegas area and not one place will touch it! Does anyone have or know of a body shop that will? Everyone I called seemed pretty scared to even consider doing it. Thanks!

I would bring the bumper in along with the car and start doing 'in store' quotes. Possibly if they see the quality of the pieces, they will change their mind. Over the phone, it's very easy for them to say 'no' but in person they may be more willing. |

Bringing it in may work.
I'd maybe call some of the tuner shops and see if they will either do it or have a referral that might do it. You may also have to have it painted at one place and maybe installed at another. I know that Extreme Power House is in vegas. I used to live there, can't remember the name of a place, but that was 10 years ago. Tried to google, but I ran across this place, too: https://www.yelp.com/biz/southwest-b...t+installation |

I say drop off the parts and just ask for them to paint them. I suggest you then install it yourself.
Their main concern is poor fitment (which will 100% be evident from eBay body parts), YES you can get them to work and look proper but there is labor involved and they don't want that liability |

Thanks for the help dudes. I think I finally found a place. Sams Auto Body I believe? I'm just going to have them paint it and then I will install myself. There just seems like too much part swapping and carefully fitting everything. I'd rather be responsible for messing up my wife's car lol.

I did it guys. Bought the kit off eBay and took my wife's car to Sam's auto body in Vegas. The kit should've been baked tonight and installed tomorrow morning. The tech that did the fitting said it fits perfect. Pics to follow.
One note though, I opted to have the rear diffuser painted the body color (Melbourne red) instead of the mineral grey or whatever it is. Thoughts? On a side note, anyone need a Melbourne red sport front bumper, side panels, and rear bumper? Selling for super cheap |

Check with Clean Concepts, they might be able to help or send you to someone that can install it

Here are some better pics. The guys at Sam's Auto body said the fitment is near perfect. I also like having the rear diffuser all Melbourne red.

Thanks bro! So, the kit was $700 and it cost $1500 for the paint and install. Kinda pricey but, the shop I went to deals exclusively with Porsche and BMW so I had peace of mind. Honestly, I used to be a mechanic on USAF fighter aircraft (now I fly) so I could've done the install myself but, nahhhhh

Too much gap in between hood and bumper.
And too narrow at ends. Inconsistent width on passenger side compared to Drivers side. Takes a lot of time to fit these on properly and minimize these issues, even with OEM. Last edited by IK6SPEED; 03-26-2019 at 02:34 AM.. |

The gap on top of the BMW logo is a bit too big. the side fenders that meet the bumper is too narrow. check with the autobody if they can clear this up.
here is a picture of mine for reference

Looks good! Yeah slight fitment issues on the front bumper, but I've even seen stock M Sport cars with bad front bumper alignment.
I personally am not a fan of the stupid grey fake diffuser so not bad idea painting it. Did you ask them to do it? Or did they not realize it was supposed to be unpainted? |

Thanks guys! Yeah, I noticed the gap. I'll see if I can minimize it this weekend but honestly, it doesn't bother me at all. It's my wife's car and she is happy to have the m-sport kit. If I mention the gap she might get angry lol. I'm not trying to go down that route haha.
Yeah, the shop knew the rear diffuser was supposed to be a different color but I opted to keep it all red. I like the look honestly and the wife is happy too |
