"Data transfer via Bluetooth"

This option shows up in my iDrive (NBT) system in the device connection area and allow me to check/enable it.

No idea what it does. I've searched the forums... nothing. Anyone have experience with this?

I thought so too but when I select it popular a warning about data usage and carrier charges.

That would make sense. You are allowing your phone to download data without WiFi.
