Not to sure why, but 2.8.4 EE network provider SIM card data stopped working… if I put SIM into any phone - works fine.
Android head unit is showing full signal with 4G, but no chance for internet connection. Updated to 2.8.6 but no luck either…😔 |

I had similar issue with O2 a week ago. Ended up doing a factory reset though which cured it as well. Now Android is living on my desk as a test bench unit so no need for SIM car anymore... shouldn't have taken the 12 month contract for it 😕

MMI Box is for CarPlay and Android Auto, nothing else. Android unit is an Android tablet. Simple as that.

Before Android HUs had IMEI perceived by operators as a smartphone (starting with 865...) but since factory FW 2.8.4 and above these devices have IMEI 868...which is not perceived as a smartphone anymore. FW downgrade doesn't change IMEI. This is FYI, might be important in some countries. If someone knows how to flash the HU and change the IMEI for smartphone's one pls advise. Thanks |

Fixed the "no fix" issue!!! I got this issue after reset to 1.2.0 firmware.
I tried everything to solve. Fix is easy - just install factory 2.6.7 firmware and GPS works perfect. Can someone upload this version to the mega cloud? Here is - https://drive.google.com/file/d/162r...ew?usp=sharing |

KSW version doesn't change the IMEI, at the same time as 2.8.4 started to roll out, newly produced units came out with new IMEI prefix. |

O.K., in that case the IMEI can be changed: root-> Magisk-> EdXposed-> AndroidIdChanger

For MTK units there is an app which allows you to change it very easily. For other devices I saw some articles describing how to do it with simple codes (like *#06# and stuff) but I must say it's hard to believe it's that easy 🤔

I have tried it, better and easier than AndroidIdChanger but only for IMEI, works XPOSED IMEI Changer_v1.7. The procedure is just as simple - Magisk root, EdXposed, Xposed IMEI Changer.

The risk is definitely still the same, it only depends on your decision whether you take it and experiment with Xposed. However, I use Xposed (EdXposed) from my first PX3 Android 7 HU to the current SD625 Android 10 HUs. Although I managed to brick some units several times (and successfully revive them), it was never thanks to Xposed. Even though after each Android update, I root and install Magisk and EdXposed... But I repeat, the risk is by no means less.

I tried 2.8.x and returned back to 2.3.6
Later versions still killing apps. Spotify + navi + radar detector ends with the death of one of them Is there a solution how to fix this on newer firmware? |

By modifying CenterService.apk but why? What's so appealing in bigger firmware number?

The only thing I would like to fix is to disable battery management for apps. Autostart using ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED is not working due to limitations. |

By running Linux distro, decompiling the CenterService.apk, changing few lines, recompiling it with appropriate signatures and installing on your unit. Bonus points for deodexing the OTA package and repacking it with appropriate signatures to install as a complete update.
