Wrapping headlights

Hi all

Ok, this may sound weird but has anyone tried to wrap the headlights with a clear coat? I was wondering if it could expand the lifetime of the headlights if the foil would be replaced for example every two or three years. Mine are now eight year old and after almost 120k miles pretty sand blasted.

Would a wrap last or will it just do harm?

How resistant is it against washing scratches and have you applied it to the front bumber as well?

I have a PPF film over my headlights and it's self healing. I imagine I'll get 3-5 years out of it before it starts to look rough. It's similar to 3M clear bra as mentioned above, or a wrap for the body of a car to change the color.

The Xpel Ultimate on my headlights was applied as a 'freebie' when most of the car was protected post purchase, I'm glad they did it.

I've had Xpel on the headlights for two years and they still look like new. Given Xpel is self healing ( and a ten year guarantee) they will look like that for a long time to come.
