It won't be a hassle free solution. It requires you to send us the NBT Evo unit to update the software and if your dealer updates your car software it will erase it.

You have the regular NBT. We will only be able to update LCI cars or your other option is retrofitting NBT EVO.

Quite a bit off-topic as I'm not sure f30 have this headunit in any market, but do you know if entrynav HU will be software upgradable as well? (I have a f48 x1)

Ordering guides in Europe have started showing carplay option with those headunits (5UN / 5UP option codes) without requiring any inductive charging or extended connectivity options as far as I know.

I Still want some hard info. What does it mean if the dealer flashes your car, it's all gone? That's not likely an option for most of us in the upgrade window... Why does the unit need to go back to you?

Looks like that's Canada so same for all North America? I'm excited to see CarPlay finally coming. I wonder if the option 6CP will require you get navigation. That would suck if it did. Even though I have navigation on my '15 335i, I usually use Apple maps or Google maps instead. It's just easier to enter. I really don't want to pay the extra $3000 for nav next time. I don't see how manufacturers can continue charging those ridiculous prices.

Don't you have to to get nav to get the screen and iDrive knob? I agree that the prices they charge for nav are ridiculous, although since it includes the screen and iDrive hardware it's kind of understandable. What I don't get is how they charge like $500 for a map update when you can buy an entire Garmin for like $50, which includes hardware and free updates.

We figure a way to do it remotely but you will need a battery charger.
