Passenger mirror doesn't fold in
Hi all,
I've got a 320i (2013) which is great. I'm very pleased with the car. Already I've been coding stuff and reading about other options and mods. Sadly enough I've coded my mirrors to fold in when closing he car. My mirror on the passenger side moves a little but then stops. When I pushing it a little it will fold all the way. Does anyone had that same problem. The motor seems to work. |

Mmmm, I still have a hard time finding solutions. Problems enough but the most solution are cutting wires or, if someone really tries, unplugging wires . I really want to fix it. I've found a replacement part (I think) but have no clue on how to replace. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-3-F30-F...frcectupt=true Last edited by rdevoogd; 01-19-2020 at 10:43 AM.. |

The first thing to do would be to strip the outer mirror off and do a voltage test while attending tempting to fold the mirrors in, ensure that they are getting the correct power, if they are then the faults in the mirror, if not then it's between the mirror, CAN BUS or power, pretty easy first step to narrow down the issue. Don't just go replacing stuff without testing first, you'll throw good money in the bin.

Does sound like a missing tooth on a head if the mirror moves initially and then a further nudge then allows it to fold.
As above you’ll need to strip it to see what is going on. |

Well I've contacted a BMW specialist. He said immediately, go to your dealer if you're under warranty. So that's what I'm going to do.. maybe I'll hear the solution from them.. :-)

Either 1) The gears are stripped/broken or 2) The sensor as to where the assembly is located has malfunctioned or is not aligned with the actual assembly. |
