Custom rear parcel shelf in alcantara

Wanted to keep the theme of alcantara and the GTS style perforations going in my car.. the rear shelf felt like the best place for this as I had planned on upholstering it in alcantara.

My supplier was super kind to find me some offcuts from a hide of their Xtreme Grenada. The colour is a much deeper and brighter red than coral red, in fact CR looks more purple and washed out than this, however as it's going under the alcantara the perforations will darken the colour with shadows so I wasn't overly worried.

As ever with this design everything was laser cut and the fabric was panel non backed 9002.

I am genuinely considering a roof headliner and possibly continuing the design through the middle (maybe in the middle not completely back to front?)

There's a German company that sells an Alcantara roof lining. It says you have to send in your roof lining to be converted but there's 2 prices (there's usually 1 for them providing the part and 1 for sending in your part) so you could email them to see if they could provide the roof lining to do the conversion. They also have other Alcantara products but they're not cheap.

Clever, subtle, looks stock-but is unique! I like it!

Yeah Benda Interiors are great leaders in custom interior upholstery. I remember seeing their earlier work when they were known as ECD.

Their pricing was often the reason I pushed myself to learn how to do it, I also can't justify European import tax on the UK now, I paid close to 55% for a set of wheels last year so more the reason to source it locally.

Having seen how large of a piece the headliner really is I definitely will be handing it to a shop if I go ahead with it
