Trouble coding touch controller / ZBE

Trying to code in a touch ecu + touch controller for my NBT Evo retrofit and I'm unable to flash the controller unit. E-Sys errors out when injecting a CAFD file to it, though it does work right now without touch capabilities (which leads me to believe it is wired correctly). I'll post the log from E-Sys below when attempting to inject a CAFD file and code

When was your car produced, pre LCI or LCI?. The touch controler were introduced in the 2018 LCI production.

I note it says ZBE2 in the log. The touch controler should appear as ZBE4 or higher

That is a good point, I didn't even realize that. It shouldn't be ZBE2, and I'm sure its not. My car is pre LCI but I retrofitted an NBT Evo with 03/18 zeitkriterium. I think someone on the bimmerfest forums had the same issue as me here. Involved updating 'VCM', whatever that means I guess I have some more googling to do. Thanks for the tip!

Make sure the wiring is done correctly. You can edit the SVT and manually add the zbe and write that svt to VCM.

Can you point me to any documentation on how to do this? I’m sure it’s wired correctly, all the buttons work and the knob works.

Modify the fa zeitkriterium to match the zbe or nbtevo. Use it to calculate svt target with similar i level target. You should be able to get the ZBE in the SVT target. You can read your current svt from VCM and replace the zbe with the new zbe in svt target. You can use any text editor for that.

Reading this thread people are confusing touchscreens (available 2018 MY) with Touch Controller (available late 2014 MY)

And wiring depends on F30 manufacture date, though if unit is working without touch, it does seem at very least controller is wired correctly.

Ok so I tried and got stuck.

The zeitkriterium in the active FA is 0318.

If I "read VCM" under 'Expert Mode' -> 'Coding' it indicates ZBE2.

If I go to VCM -> Master -> Read SVT it still shows ZBE2.

I tried saving SVT Actual and opening it in 'Editors & Viewers' -> 'SVT Editor' and deleting ZBE2 entirely, but wasn't exactly sure how to proceed after that?

Shout out to Siki78 he spent at least an hour on team viewer trying to help me debug. Some progress was made, ZBE4 shows up in the tree but still won’t accept coding. TBX doesn’t show up, wonder if the TBX is faulty? Will buy another TBX module and double check the Y splitter cable that both controller and TBX are sitting behind. But again, faulty wiring seems incredibly unlikely as there are only 4 wires going to controller and I’ve only changed two - the CAN2 high and low (ground and power are unchanged from original CAN1 connector). And if CAN2 was wrong then the controller would not work.
