Thanks for the video. I'm sticking with dual slats as I think they look more aggressive.

After looking at your video, I think the lower grills need to have a different shape to look correct.

Otherwise you have 2 different diamond/rectangle shape of the openings competing.

Yes, the F3x didn't match....but that was stripes and diamond/rectangle/hexagon....without the front dashed line. Perhaps I should say too cluttered??

At least that's my first impression seeing them on a F30.

Thanks for posting.

EDIT: Strangely enough going to the G20 forums and looking at the pics again after looking at this, the diamonds in the top look much more subtle....and the stripes seem more solid. And the lower grills are darker than the kidneys which is a flip from the F3x.

I often thought about painting the lower sections black on my F30 but paint experts told me as the part was so plastic, rock chips would make a mess of it in short order.

Nice! Looks so much better than the G20. Think I still prefer the double slat (or even single), but I love that it offers a different look without being conjoined like the G20.

Does BMW or anyone else makes these in CF? Would save weight and look cool as long as they also had the open and closed function for aero and cooling when needed.

I agree. I still am partial to the double slat I had prior but this was a nice change. Can always swap back in a matter of minutes so it works for me.

They weigh practically nothing now. trying to save weight on car with a carbon fiber grill is just silly.

I am looking to save weight by switching from steel m plate frames to cf m plate frames.

+1. And speaking as someone that has gloss black grill, I'd prefer a matte finish to match the bumper grills.
