Instead of butchering a perfectly fine intake I'd sell it and get a cts turbo or another like it with an open filter

It's doable for a bit of sound, you can cut an opening or hole to the bottom intake box. Just look at the BMW m performance intake box, all they did is cut a hole in the bottom half of the box and called it a day LOL.

With the dinan intake I think you retain your stock bottom half box and that's what you can cut holes into. Won't need to touch the dinan.

unless you leave the hood of your car open for show purposes its pointless having a 700$ intake.

sell that intake buy bms or cts turbo and you will get the turbo spool woosh sound you want. and take that 500 and buy yourself some CF that people will actually see

What's the update on this? Did you drill holes through the bottom part of the airbox?

I haven't been home so yet. sept 16th I'll be back hopefully I can try out something if I get some time. I'm probably going to hack up the lower box first before doing any damage to the top dinan box

Attached is a PDF with a photo of the M Performance lower airbox so you can see how it is done. Go to that website and there are some other photos from different angles so you have some idea of where and how to cut. It's a couple hundred dollars so you can also just buy one if you want. It came with my car. I swapped out the air filter for an aFe pro dry. It felt like the performance and sound increased a bit. Hope this helps.

https://ibb.co/fLQ2sK
https://ibb.co/kfgaCK

not as loud than a fully open intake but you do hear the turbo spool and Bov more

I am also thinking to hack the dinan top box but I'm not ready to hack up the dinan part as yet

Thanks for sharing photos. You certainly opened the bottom box as much as possible. Before hacking up that beautiful Dinan carbon fiber top box you may want to consider just selling it. There are plenty of open top intakes you can install for more intake sound. Just remember the potential trade-off of pulling in hotter under-the-hood air. Besides the nice appearance, that's a key advantage of Dinan closed intake. Have fun.

I'm actually thinking to put this filter on my car
Is it gonna make the turbo sound louder?

Probably won't sound louder in the stock airbox but you should feel a slight performance gain from better intake airflow. Loud aftermarket intakes just make noise. They don't add more performance since they all use the same stock turbo air inlet.
