Hope it’s baffled, filtered ,sealed and will allow for an intake vacuum source like mishimotos baffled- filter setup.

I installed a Mishimoto baffled catch can on mine today. This catch can came from Subaru WRX. The bracket was made for a Subie, but I inverted it and was able to connect it to the bolt that the coolant reservoir tank uses. It fit pretty snugly in the area. I used 3/4" heater hose and clamps, will be monitoring it closely to see if the kinks in the hose will negatively affect anything.

You need a stiffer hose and possibly some elbow fittings or relo the catch can. Those kinks are bad!!

Agree with Jared..

at minimum try longer hoses so you can increase the hose bend radius and try to get rid of those kinks...

Yup, you need to fix the kinks ASAP. Remember this is the only way the crankcase vents is through this channel. Pressurizing the crackcase is bad news, will cause a lot of issues.

Im surprised no one here has tried the Mann ProVent. I will be installing that next time I take my car apart (winter break).
These aftermarket catch cans dont work well. We should use a proper air/oil separator like the Mann ProVent (OEM part)

So i've read that the n55 has a pretty intricate pcv system. Anyone know how using a CC or OAST will impact parts along the intake tract that rely on oil vapors for lubrication, the only one that comes to mind was the DV (i know that those with the DV+ rely on vapors to lube the piston)

OCC is good if you run high boost. I have one for peace of mind.

You can likely source some brass fitting to get you to the angle you need.

Do you have any thread sealant (since it doesn't look like you have an o-ring) around where the barbs screw into the cap top? Might want to make sure there's no leak there.

I'm bringing this thread back to life. Sorry fellas. I've been looking for a OCC for my N55 F34 and I have not located a plug and plag kit that can be sold in my sorry ass state of California. BMS has "Cannot be sold in CA" on a whole bunch of stuff that I have in my cart too . Any tips would be much appreciated as I would like to install the OCC after I have the valves cleaned. Thanks.

Since this thread has been revived, is an OCC necessary if I'm running meth daily, as i believe the reason behind the OCC is to prevent blow by and build up on the intake valves? (which meth does)

correct, collecting the byproducts of combustion and oil vapors in a catch can helps keep the valves cleaner for longer. Im not sure it would be worth it for you if your spraying meth daily.. how many miles on the motor, and how many miles have you been spraying meth daily??

Port injecting or even CP injecting meth will clean your valves

safe to say you would benefit from servicing the valves if you never have. Meth from here out would keep things clean.

OCCs won't allow you to pass a smog inspection because CA says you can't tamper with the PCV/CCV system at all. That said, just buy your setup from another vendor/ebay who doesn't care that you're in CA.

not to derail the thread any further but would meth not clean the past 43000 miles of build up on the valves?
