you know whats interesting ... the ignition timing 2 graph around the time of the knock detection

every other log i have the timings all seem to match. Most likely the reaction to the knock.

FSociety How is your gear hesitation going. Ive noticed mine getting progressively more pronounced after the car has sat for a while. Almost like a gentle 'buck' when the car shifts. I was actually hoping to capture the gear hesitations in my logs when i realized I was knocking a bit.
So it wasn't a full hesitation after driving more and more on V5 E30 (totally gone) but V5 93oct STG2 I noticed a slight
I'm running V5 E30 for the past full week
E20 blend went well, now running E25 going to test tomorrow more.

Yes I was going to say this but thought that was obvious
Sometimes even a bad batch of gas can knock but if the knock is persistent then there's something to check

No, not enough customers that have AH3. I remember hearing a few months ago it will have to be custom when compared to the user-base of say N20/N55/S55/N63TU/S63TU. Time-consuming and not enough testers to have OTS maps last heard they were not supporting it anymore due to this.

Seems to happen mostly when the engine is colder vs fully warmed up. Ride home, leaving work, she detected 4 knocks. WOT is still fine.

Just wierds me out because there isn't really anything that would indicate why the knock is happening. Boost is nearly nil, timings are all inline, and i wouldn't think that the timings are aggressive at cold start low rpm.

One day I will flash back to stock and do some logs to compare and be able to see exactly what the tune is doing. If detonation still occurs on the stock map I'm thinking it's just part of owning an internal combustion engine.

Just looked at your logs. Think you are over analyzing way too much.

Unless I am looking at something completely different... all the knock I'm seeing in your logs happens below 2k rpm at barely 25% throttle and under no boost... as in you are barely pushing the gas pedal. I wouldn't worry about it unless its happening when you are on throttle and boost is building. It's so sporadic ... probably just picking up some false knock.

I agree, def just my engineering OCD trying to answer the "Why" lol. But yea, def attributing it to some false knock given the rest of the parameters.

look at my logs again. theres no heavy throttle action.

i know what lugging is ... that's not at all whats going on

none the less, will give it a fresh tank and make sure it doesn't continue into the higher rpm/load ranges

Sorry for asking about a different platform but this is by far the most active thread on the forums.

I've read all 19 pages of this thread and I saw a couple of posts regarding the e82 N55 PWG. Mine is a 2012 with locked DME. Is BM3 available for this? If not, will it be?

There's no mention of it on the PTF website.

If I am running Stage 2 OTS map E30, is it still safe to run a full tank of 93 in the car on this tune and then the next tank some E85 to E30?

Lets say I am on a trip and don't have access to E85 but later on in the next fill up, put some E85?

My car came with MPPK, MPE etc.. as it was a 2015 M-performance edition.

I want to get BM3 but was just wondering if it would take advantage of any of the OEM BMW performance mods?

Have catless DP, chargepipe and intercooler in the works before I go with BM3.

Totally fine, just dont go bonkers while on full 93
I usually throw E30 and if I need to fill up only 93 i try to add at half tank so at least there's some E15-E20 there

MPPK gets replaced once you flash any of the OTS maps, furthermore the latest OTS has MPPK inspired throttle mapping

It wouldn't necessarily 'take advantage' of any of the MPPSK stuff, but the intake will certainly help a bit over the folks running the BM3 with OE intake.

ecided to give the stg1 93tune a shot (ran 91 tune before). Hrmm, not good on the more aggressive pull i took:

looks like cyl 1 didn't like it @ 4th gear around 6.5k rpm
