xDelete app updated this morning with support for our F-series

Looks like they came through as promised. Can't wait to try it (waiting for ENET cable)! Give you guys a review afterwards.

Any idea if this will trigger a reflash code? Warranty is the idea here, say my tranny explodes, they will run a full diag with the mothership. If a reflash indicator/code is present, the could deny my warranty claim.

I'm very interested in this, but I also want to make sure the warranty is still there!

Oh, and to the naysayers, stop. People have choices, but fully informed choices are what people really need. Buy me a RWD F31 and I'll support your FUD.
I am not sure. I would contact XDelete support for the answer to your question. but as others said. Purchasing almost any aftermarket for your car has the potential to void warranty.

Looks like it needs some some stuff to be worked on, some people (including myself) have trouble connecting with Android devices, we followed their setup guide to the letter as well. I ordered another cable and a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter as well to try on iOS

I saw some comments on their fb bost about this. They said they are trying to get a fix and send it out asap. I had a few connection issues at first. But after I changed the ethernet settings on my device as stated and reset my phone it worked properly. hope they resolve it quickly for everyone having troubles!

Hey guys, as someone who's newer to everything, what are the differences between RWD and XDrive in this case (Besides handling)?

Just a guess, but potentially more hp to the wheels. So say for roll racing, you could trap higher speeds. But that's just an assumption on my end.

Fewer drivetrain losses (so better engine to ground power delivery) since the front transfer case is mostly decoupled.

You still have all the losses from transferring to the RW. The ones for transferring to the FW are insignificant in comparison.

But in theory - yes.
Purely from performance point of view you are however better off with the extra losses and extra traction.

RWD is only better for manoeuvring and drifting. (And lower price and maintenance burden if out of factory)

The front drive losses were significant looking at my multiple stock dyno runs (on different dynos) and comparing them to stock 328d RWD dynos.

RWD cars (averaged) were like 172hp, vs 145hp averaged across my runs.

20% difference?

Have you decided to give xDelete a try?

I'll give RWD mode a try after I collect enough fuel economy data with my current setup. That'll probably be around the Nov/Dec timeframe.

Jeez 20% sounds really decent. Granted I have a slow 320i so if I can push out any percentage more I'd be real impressed. I ordered the Apple connector and am going to get Xdelete tomorrow so I'll try and report back with some anecdotes.

It is working pretty good, but you will need a wider tyres I am with f30 335i xdrive FBO and with the stock 18 m wheels with 225 tyres it is awful when you want to overtaking, the traction control is stopping you most of the time. Without traction control, it is not safe , it is fun but not safe.

With xdrive enabled, I dont have problem with the traction.

On lower speed it is amazingly fun, just hitting the gas pedal and the car is going crazy , I love it, it's 99999999 times better then xdrive. And the opportunity to switching between awd and rwd...., niceeee

Me personally, I looking for new 19 wheels with 285 tyres , I think this will fix the issue and I will stay with rwd until the winter

I am having a hard time believing the car is MUCH faster with xdrive disabled.

I actually did not expect the car to be faster at all.

Can someone else chime in on this? If it really is that much faster maybe getting xdelete can be an alternative to a tune, for someone looking for modest power gains.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 is not faster (you have more traction on the start with the xdrive), but the pulls on the highway are . The losts from delivering the power from the engine to the tyres are less when you are delivering only on two tyres, not four

Much faster... no, but you definitely can feel the difference.

XDrive is most definitely faster from 0-100. The data is available officially (typically 0,2-0,3 sec faster and that is for Xdrive vs out of factory RWD with less weight). The difference between XDrive and Xdrive disabled on the same car (same weight) would probably be in the neighborhood of 0,5 sec, which is significant.

I also seriously doubt RWD is faster (or let's say more efficient in getting power to the wheels) in motion. It can be more fun and it can therefore build a placebo effect of being faster. Driving a well powered RWD can actually be scary (from own experience). XDrive is not (as) scary, as the car behaves and just goes.... but it goes quicker. Having good traction may not be as fun, but it certainly is increasing performance.

There's some youtuber that does a lot of reviews, I think he said up to .7 seconds faster.

I want a FWD F31 now!
