Made in EU OE parts?

In the US almost all of European parts suppliers are selling aftermarket parts made in China.

Pierburg, Lemforder, Elring etc.

Is the same happening in the EU as well?

Even a lot of OEM parts are made in China. For European companies it is a lot easier to produce there: less strict emission legislation, better labor market, employees don't complain or go on strike, less environmental hassle etc. As long as the production equipment, processes and quality control are up to Euro standards (which you would expect from a Euro company), I am personally not concerned with this from a consumer / end user perspective.

Thanks for the reply. Personally I find it annoying that a Genuine BMW Vanos solenoid is made in Germany and the Pierburg aftermarket is made in China when just a couple of years ago you could buy an OE Pierburg made in Germany.

Rant over.
