Original HBA (with FLA) doesn't work anymore
Hello everyone,
I'm new here on the forum and wanted to introduce myself briefly before diving into an issue I've been dealing with. I own a 2013 BMW F31 320d, which I purchased in 2018. One of the standout features for me was the High Beam Assistant, paired with the adaptive headlights and the FLA sensor. The system used to work flawlessly: as soon as an oncoming vehicle was detected, the lights would adjust accordingly, tilting away until reaching the limit, and if necessary, the high beams would turn off entirely until the vehicle passed. Afterward, they would automatically re-engage. It quickly became one of my favorite features. Unfortunately, I've had to replace my windshield twice due to stone damage, using non-OEM windshields but from the same manufacturer as the original. After the first replacement, the system worked as expected. However, since the second replacement, it hasn’t been functioning properly. The High Beam Assistant often fails to recognize oncoming vehicles, so the high beams either don’t tilt or turn off as they should. At one point, the lights were moving in an erratic manner, but after re-learning the FLA sensor, that issue at least has stopped. When running diagnostics, no error codes appear. If anyone has experienced something similar or has suggestions on how to resolve this, I would appreciate any advice. Thank you! |
