Mine has the option to turn the DRL lights off in iDrive.
On the Control Display: 1. "Settings" 2. "Lighting" 3. "Daytime running lamps" Settings are stored for the profile currently in use. |

No light sensor? Not sure how it is on the early BMW F3x, but on Audi from the same period, a light sensor is optional and comes in conjunction with rain-sensor (automatic wipers).

I don't think the problem the OP is dealing with has anything to do with the presence or absence of light sensor. The DRL lights, if set, are supposed to be there regardless of the ambiance condition.

You may be right.
My experience is from the Audi world (from that period) where "DRL" as an option does not translate into "Automatic DRL", which is a different (more common) option.

True. The DRL should be on anytime the headlights are not, unless they're turned off. In some countries where DRL use is mandatory they can't be turned off.

You can grab a Bluetooth module to do this with the BimmerCode app. It's iOS and android one time purchase.
Otherwise Navardi tuned and Kies makes a obd2 adapter to utilize BimmerCode and other apps wirelessly. https://navardituned.com/products/wifienet https://www.kiesmotorsports.com/prod...1-toyota-supra
