Now I'm confused. Where did we find that Hot Shot's Secret is recommended over the ZF fluid for a ZF transmission?

I think I'll stick to OEM fluids over the recommendation of a tuner that also sells fluids. Plus, doing a filter and pan change is not getting all the fluid out, so now you're mixing. I can't agree with that myself

Yeah I'm not sure what is the difference in these if any. But i do want the 120$ 2 gallon fluid from amazon in the link above, as that is the entire mission here.

Thanks for the heads up on the current low price. I was going off a 2 or 3 year old thread on here where someone said the kit alone cost them like 600 or 650 shipped from fcp and until now didn't even look for myself.

I ordered all new conti extreme contacts for front and rear yesterday. Figure in a week or 2 i will have them on then will likely get both xHP and the Suitphin (forget spelling) tunes in the days after that.

I think you should drive it for a couple hundred miles before trying a custom tune, you may save yourself some money. I went xhp just over a week ago and after getting used to how different it is, I’m liking it. It took me a bit to get used to how less dramatic the change into sport and sport+ are (the mode button) compared to the huge difference in putting the shifter into sport. I just did stage 2 with the predefined sportive for drive and sportive+ for sport. I haven’t messed with anything else because this feels pretty good for the driving I do. This is paired with MHD stage 2+

i hear what you are saying, but i only drive the car mainly to and from work 3-4 days a week at about 18 miles each time i do, so every time i read about the driving break in process it sounds not easy for me to do. my normal drive is literally just sitting in traffic most drives and going from light to light with the occasional 0-50 mph blast off from a light. trying to drive 100 miles going slow no problem, trying to drive 100 miles going fast or doing highway pulls is not a very realistic or easy thing for me to do in okinawa sadly

so if i can just go straight to a custom tune that people seem to vouch for i think this is better for me. no break in needed or special driving rules for break in on the Sutphin tune right???

i drive about 90% in sport mode (bm3 stage 2) on the button selection and normal mode only about 10% of the time when entering and leaving my local residential area (exhaust valve open is a bit noisy with my exhaust and catless DP ). and gear selector in manual with paddles probably 50% of the time or regular D the other 50% of the time in slow stop/go traffic. i just really miss the snappy gear selections and sounds from my old 335is DCT with tune. maybe it is just a dct thing but in my old car i could double tap the down paddle and in an instant be like 3000 rpm and ready to rock. my current 440i trans is slow as shit if i double tap the down paddle and feels like it takes ages and is still often times a gear to high. i was really hoping the xHp and Sutphin tune could help this part out some, but again that may just be possible in a DCT, i really don't know...

I honestly noticed the single best bang for the buck, both this car and last, by doing the stage 1 tune, and bm3 is now my fav 😍

Until you do stage 2. Then you'll wonder why you only did stage 1!
