2014 F30. The iPhone connector is a 30 pin with aux cable in the arm rest box. Separate line for audio.
1. Any luck with 30 pin to lighting adaptors?
2. I would like to have the apps for remote start, etc that I didn’t buy when I got the original vehicle. At the time I didn’t want to spend the $800 or do for those. Realizing now that’s probably just a code to turn on.

Any apps that require 4G, which includes the BMW App, won't work unless you've had the car upgraded from 3G to 4G.

I’m just looking for the BT connection to my phone but that probably means I need the upgraded heads up display and head unit. I just thought that was all just turned off … just like the 320i and the 328i are the exact same car with different tuning profiles.

The 320i and 328i engines are both N20, but still very different. The lack of a bluetooth connection option is hardware, not software. Even if you had BT that only allows phone connectivity, it would not run apps on your iDrive 4.

Your solution seems to be installing mmi, to get Apple and Android connectivity.I do have a 2014 “naked”, and the MMI seems to be a good way to survive. These MMI although are not the best quality and have its problems. You need to do your own research.
