Talking 330D GT M Sport coming!

Hi, new to the forum and new to BMW!

Just put my order in for a 330D in Estoril Blue with Oyster seats. I've been quoted approx 12 weeks. Can't wait!

I have been driving a Merc C Class estate as a family mobile after having to get rid of my beloved Alfa 159 (it never broke down once! ). Whilst proficient at lugging a new family from A to B, it put a bit of a damper on my motoring enjoyment after the Alfa. I figure the the GT is going to provide the perfect balance driving and keeping my wife happy.

Are there manuals I can download? Bedtime reading. In the UK the BMW website asks for a VIN to download it.

Forget the manual, watch all of the BMW videos to get familiar with it before it comes in.

Thanks, I will do. However watching a video in the office rather than reading a document is a controversial move...

Did you not ask for bedtime reading (watching) i.e. not office reading :-)

So is goofing off on line, as you're doing right now.

The videos are much better than the manuals, as you see someone actually using the features. When I picked up my car I already knew as much about it as my SA did. What takes the longest to learn is the iDrive, as going through the menus isn't as intuitive as it could be.

There is an app now if you have an iphone where you can download your instruction manual: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bmw-...714042570?mt=8

either use your cars VIN number if you know it or use google to find one, that is what I did as my car will only be delivered in August so I could already have a bed time read

Cheers, getting an appropriate VIN number (I haven't been given mine yet by the lease/dealer) isn't that easy in the UK... I will be patient.

Good move. On those occasions where the sun is too much and I close the inner liner the car feels claustrophobic compared to when it's open.

If only... Here in the UK it is more a wild expression of optimism than anything else.

Apparently we buy more convertibles than the rest of Europe put together...

But hey! You can only live in hope! And the South of France is only a few hours drive away I guess.

Haha, I ordered a sunroof as well just to let in some light, under no illusions about UK sunshine... Figured black leather and headlining might be a bit much in the back! Also impatiently waiting for my new car, been making do reading the US manuals and YouTube videos.

Both sunroofs and convertibles are best employed in temperate zones. It may seem cool to run around Cannes with the top down, but it's a lot 'cooler' to have the top up and the AC cranked.
I enjoy the sunroof the most in the winter, as it brightens the car interior. But I only keep the liner open, not the glass.

I can barely contain myself!

Strangely, from seeing next to none of them I have noticed 4-5 in the last couple of weeks. The other day I saw a 5 GT and mistook it for a 3 and have to admit I thought "Noooooo! What have i done!?!?" for the nanosecond it took me to realise my mistake.
