Is there anyone here who have retrofited the basic bluetooth/handsfree?

I have a combox unit, but i don't have any bluetooth (6nh or 6ns)

I want to retrofit either of them but basic 6nh seems easiest, and then coding 6nh to 6ns.

There is no value in the handsfree for me i just want the bluetooth audio streaming.

if anyone knows what parts or what to code i would be super happy. Have searched theese forums for days..

Car has no Navigation, so I do not know what Head Unit it has.

Use E-Sys, Edit FA, add 644 Option Code, Save FA, Activate VA, and VO Code (right-click => CODE) Head Unit and Combox modules.

Again, car is without Navigation, so I have no idea what Head Unit is installed, but car does have 6VC Control, Combox with no Telematics, so VO Coding both Head Unit and Combox for 644, which is Enhanced Bluetooth telephone functionality without Telematics is most logical choice. I would expect Phone and Bluetooth Audio Streaming to work afterwards.

It worked!! hanks alot! Now i have bluetooth, it works but the signal is bad, as there is no bluetooth antenna in the combox now, i will order an antenna and a microphone, he antenna is simple to plug in, (just a normal plug) but i dont know how to wire the mic. Do you have any idea?

I never make this retrofit before, but I think you need something like this:

No idea on the Mic quality of this kit. Can try it, and if needed, always replace the Mics with OEM ones later if not satisfied.

And CMB_MEDIA => USED_MICROPHONES must be coded accordingly for "mono" or "stereo" based on if 1 or 2 Mics are installed.

Yes. Car has EVO ID4 Head Unit, which has integrated Combox.

As I was typing this below, suddenly realized that the VIN used for the donor NBT-HU although has 609, does only have 6NH and not 6NR. Does that matter as far as enabling EBT and USB fully if the hardware has been added (retrofitted)? If not, please continue reading below...



Searched several forums and all roads eventually lead back to Rome (i.e. Shawn) when coding help is needed Would like to ask for guidance on Enhanced Bluetooth and USB ports working only partially on retrofitted NBT HU:

- USB1 works with USB thumbs-stick video, audio, and Android cellphone streams video and audio, etc. But for iPhone it only charges and every few second it alternates between a steady "Not connected" and then "Reading connection..." for a fraction. Tried and coded iPhone chip-security-check OFF in Bimmercode. Tried several data/charge lighting cables including two authentic apple cords, and two fake ones. The fake ones actually charge, but no data. The genuine ones do not even charge.
- USB2 shows baseplate phone icon, but it's not connectable. Doesn't budge at all with anything I throw at it.

Other possibly related issues:
- cannot delete already paired BT phones, can only add new phones, but BT seems to work without issues
- car user profile is not editable, only 4 dashes show



Background (sorry for the length but want to give a complete picture to help troubleshoot):

Car: May 2012, F30 (328i, N26), CIC HU w/6-pin LVDS (1 DIN) no Nav, no Combox.

Replaced CIC HU w/6-pin LVDS with NBT HU from donor manufactured in 2015. Using emulator. After the physical retrofit (but before coding) the previous 6NH BT worked well, newly added Navigation worked along with voice commands/with 2015 maps, and strangely Sirius was also activated and was able to switch to subscription Sirius channels. Disconnected USB1 (factory white male plug) coming from armrest and used another USB1 cable connected in its place on new NBT HU to beige USB1 female socket. Connected a second USB cable to USB2 (curry) female socket.

Other info: factory I-Level from 2012, last I-level F020-15-06-506..

Per kind coding advice from Shawn and his contact , two weeks after the physical retrofit with emulator added, I did the VO coding. Replaced these major FA codes from factory VIN: 6NH, 693, 205 with donor NBT-HU's 609, 655, 6AE, 6AK, 6AM, 6AP, 2TB and added also 6NR and 6UH and whatever else the car had from factory. (Note: donor NBT-HU VIN comes with 6NH).

Using the revised VO set, I coded these ECUs with original VIN + ZeitKriterium: EGS, FEM-BODY, BKOMBI, ISM. And coded the NBT-HU with donor-equivalent VIN and proper ZeitKriterium for the 609 FA option: 03/2015. (Gerry gave me another equivalent donor VIN and ZeitKriterium not the VIN that my retrofit donor NBT-HU came with)

Before the E-Sys coding I used ISTA 4.33.40 to clear all error codes. The E-Sys 3.271 coding went without any errors. I only coded the "affected" ECUs and not the entire car (VCM).

After coding: lost the "free" Sirius which went back to preview channel 184, had only partially working USB port(s) and BT, but Navigation still worked along with voice. After the coding since 6NR worked only partially, I tried to Bimmercode for EBT and USB what I was able to gather from forums https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1414327 and https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1108386 and the F30 Cheat-sheet.

With the EBT and USB issues discovered after the first coding, I went back to E-Sys (clearing errors with ISTA+ showed nothing specific wrong with BT/USB) and took out 6AE, 6AK, 6AM, 6AP, 6UH codes except 6NR, 655, 2TB and recoded the same ECUs as first time but now with these removed. Did the same for the NBT-HU ECU but still using the donor-equivalent VIN and the revised ZetiKrtiteium.

Questions:

Should I code the "remaining" uncoded factory ECUs individually with 6NR added and 6NH removed? Same for the 609? Since all ECUs except BKOMBI, ISM, EGS, FEM-BODY, and NBT-HU still have the factory VOs, I wonder if there are some EBT, USB, and user profile settings in the remaining uncoded ECUs that are not yet enabled?

Or should I just return all VO codes back to factory original and add only 6NR and 609 first to the "affected" ECUs only and see what happens? (as Shawn originally advised)

I really do not need any of BMW's subscription-based services, BMW LIVE, etc but would like to have both USBs working fully, and also all BT menu items. 6NR is BMW Apps. It has nothing to do with EBT. If you want EBT, change 6NH to 6NS And VO Cde NBT. That's it.

If you want 6NR, you need a 9C FSC Code, add 6NR to FA, and VO Code NBT.

If you want Sat Radio, you need a 6F FSC Code, replace 693 with 655, and VO Code NBT, and then you need Activation from SirrusXM.
