SOS Call SYstem Failure

SOS Call System Failure is flagging up on every journey I make, it flags up after about 7-8 mins of driving. Nothing has changed and although I have coded for enhanced Bluetooth this was several months ago. When the message appears I am still able to use Bluetooth as far as I can tell.
I have read somewhere that the speaker in the footwell may be disconnected?? Given my size 11s this could be possible.
Car is Jul 15 LCI F 30 330d
Any hints or tips gratefully received.

Andy

Not sure if it's the speaker or not...but I'm 99% sure it's nothing to do with your Bluetooth.

The e-call system is separate from the infotainment system...

I would take it and tell them... The SOS it's talking about is a system that calls emergency service automatically in the case of a crash.

Turn off your phone for a few trips just to make sure is not the headset triggering calls somehow. Other than that just take it to service and have them sort it.

This.

Mine triggered similar errors, it was the backup battery in the control unit under the boot floor. Simple fix.

Something I can do myself? A trip to the dealer is 90 mile round trip and no doubt it will involve 2 visits.

I guess you could check it - under the boot floor, small sliding cover on the combox:

Have done some more investigating, I have no online services at all, no nav, no concierge, nothing... No signal! Have tried different areas in town so it's not a coverage issue. Maybe SIM card??

Sounds more serious and definitely a dealer visit.

Thanks for that suggestion, I have just got rid of search and rescue and the local police.

I have thunderbird 1 sitting in back garden and Lady Penelope drinking all my tea,

That and Parker has buggered off with my whisky.

So no press the SOS button.

Maybe SIM card or antenna connections....

I'm not sure that the SOS system isn't a seperate SIM though....

Either way I don't think you can avoid a trip to the dealers

I have lifted the boot floor expecting to see the Telematics box but it's not there, there are two white connectors attached to the floor pan but no box, does that mean it's located elsewhere on an lciF30? Maybe a chicken has got jammed in it!

On the lci f30 its integrated into the shark fin antenna, it's only under the floor in the f31s

Car has been "reprogrammed" to no avail, strangely enough non of my coding was lost!
This made no difference so it's time for a new TCB 2 unit which as mentioned before is fitted directly under the Shark Fin. . Currently waiting on BMW identifying and sending the correct part over. The Joys, still it felt superb jumping back in the 330d after 24hours with a 318d sport courtesy car :-)
