ill take that exact car with black leather instead and change the blue trim to either vinyl or paint....

i wonder if there will be an "is" with a N54 in it.. if so , i will trade my 135i in for this.

Dear God, what is that trim....?! Jumbo carbon?

I do agree with your opinion about the steering wheel. I like it, but without the blue embedded in it. Also, does anyone now if the ///M stripe colors are going to find themselves in the US leatherette option? (See initial photo of the seats, and you'll see the three colors in the back stitching between the side bolsters and back cushions).

Just saw those pics of the Mazda and Mustang wheels.

Um...

What is it with our US companies? Those wheels look like satellite dishes! I really hope that our companies get their heads out of their collective asses.

As for the new M steering wheel, I’m not sure why they've chosen to copy it from Ford/Mazda, which I don't particularly like, but I have to say BMW did make it look slightly better, and as long as the rim is as thick as the current M steering wheel, I'm OK with it (still prefer the new standard steering wheel though).

However, if they were going to copy it from someone else, I wish they had copied it from Ferrari. The Ferrari Enzo's steering wheel is still the best steering wheel IMO.

You need to know your BMW history better. The design inspiration for this wheel comes from BMW's own Sports Steering wheel of the E21 3 series (attached pic). Everybody else copied that design afterwards...

I don't get it. I had a 2007 Miata and 2008 Mazda CX-7 with the same steering wheel, I think it was the most gorgeous of any cars I owned (even better than the flat bottom steering of my 2008 VW R32 and my 2011 BMW 128i). Clean with a nice grip on the branches in active driving, much better than these ugly bloated things loaded with buttons that you see nowadays on new cars.

Can't they make it like E92 << this one is best looking so far and BMW make worst progress since.

Very valid point. About time someone took the time to do this instead of complaining about it. Thanks.

I do disagree though about the looks. The line looks that straight due to the angle you're looking at it through. Granted, it's not the best idea out there, but I'm thinking that, in person, it will not seem so dramatic.

US Spec F30 M Sport in Configurator

This is the US spec M Sport. The international configurator can show the US version of the M Sport, or any other line -- just change the configurator image URL "model" from 3A51 (Europe) to 3A53 (US).

The US M Sport front end has unique yellow side reflectors (different than the other lines) and a pad for license-plate mounting. The rear end has a US license plate mounted but otherwise appears to be the same.

I set the color to Imperial Blue. Why can't we have an Imperial Blue M Sport? That color looks great on the F10 M Sport.

Do you have the full URL?

+1 on Imperial Blue M-Sport.

US Spec F30 M Sport in Imperial Blue

Sure, here is an example. I'm just referring to the URL of any full-size image you get by using the configurator download icon. In this example, I downloaded an M Sport image then set model=3A53 (US version), color=P0A89 (Imperial Blue, color code A89), and angle=30 (rotated 30 degrees). You can rotate the image to any other angle by changing the 30 in your browser to another angle.

Cool!
Did not think to look at the output wallpaper URL.
Was also wondering how you got Imperial Blue on M-Sport.

You can also change &interior=FHAAT to &interior=FLCL3 to show the headrests properly (or folded up).

Here is a US M-Sport in Liquid Blue with proper headrests.

Just noticed that little extension for the front license plate. Wow it is hideous.

I did not notice that before you pointed it out, but you're right. Not as noticeable on the darker Imp. Blue.
BTW, there is a similar extension (plateau) on the other models but, does not change the shape of the lower opening as on M-Sport.

I made a couple of animations to illustrate.

It doesn't look nearly as bad on the non-Msport. My state doesn't even require front plates :/. Who wants to bet they redesign the front license plate mount in the LCI?

US Spec F30 M Sport in Imperial Blue

By the way, you can change the bmw.com configurator model from 328i to 335i by changing the URL to model=3A93 (US version, shown below) or 3A91 (European version). Note the change to split dual exhaust.

I'm really hoping that front license plate mount comes in the trunk, just like all my previous cars!
