Martin Brundle would say he ran out of talent long before he ran out of road

I'm nowhere near as good a driver as most of the people on here, obviously, and the guy is obviously a tool for doing that in a completely inappropriate place. However, when I hired a Lamborghini Gallardo LP580S in Vegas I was amazed how quickly it could get messy with the traction control on, never mind off. I was in a safe place (middle of the desert) but if you mash the throttle you can very quickly be pointing in the wrong direction.

horse power has become a numbers game and people don't realise or appreciate what they have underneath them and so don't respect it like they should!

What an absolute clunge. Did you see there were two pedestrians coming up the pavement? If he had set off a couple of seconds earlier....

The best part is the tree, guaranteeing a write off I would think.

He won't be seeing that car again, and I hope his insurance don't pay out.

I don't think anyone is saying they're a better driver and would have controlled the car, it's not about that it's about doing race starts in a 600+hp supercar on the street with parked cars and people wandering about it's utterly stupid and reckless.

Nothing wrong in having a play but there is a time and place, like you did in the middle of no where, if you'd have done it down the strip things would have been a bit different.

I'd have never dared to a race start in my M5 as things would have gone badly wrong very quickly....I did do it in my M3 on a quiet road and yes it all went wrong! But no one was around so that's ok!

Didnt one of your (ex) friends find out he wasnt as good a driver as he thought in your M3 once? As you say, time and place - and a busy road isnt it - especially when there are people with cameras around to catch your stupidity on camera!

Oh yeah the fool smashed up totally, no mechanical sympathy, not enough talent just smash the throttle and then complain about the tyres when it all goes wrong. But he's still a good friend my oldest friend actually.

Don't get me wrong I have zero talent when it comes to car control but I recognise that and make sure I don't over step the mark (when others are about)

Glad he is still your friend, not sure I could be so forgiving!

I once went on a fun driving day that included a skidpan and some other stuff. The only one I scored highly on was manoeuvring whilst on a mobile, apparently I was a dab hand at it, you'd think I had done it before...

And to think Lobb / Nick / Paul once called me fat? Jesus, I'm George Clooney by comparison. (And I'm really fat and ugly).

Saw this show off on LBC yesterday. Commoners could have been waiting at that bus stop!
