Congrats! Excellent choice! Cross shopped the Cayman GTS with my F82 and really wanted the GTS, but needed a backseat for my Toddler. Jealous! Enjoy!

Congrats !

Recently, I was a passenger for my friend's best autocross lap in this model. Great car! He was running his AutoX set of Bridgestone RE-71S on OZ wheels.

Thanks guys. Again, it was needs and preference that drove me to my decision. The extreme subsidy also helped haha.

Hope to enjoy it for a while until I can upgrade to a GT. Still verboten for me at this point

Congrats mate. I froth the GTS. Agree that the PDK makes all other transmissions seem relic. Did you get Sport Chrono w/ launch control? How is it? I want a GT4 but they're 230k here!

Massively huge upgrade there. Working on the same myself, but a 991S, either Guards Red Cabrio or Racing Yellow Coupe. Not sure which way to go.

Slow? A car that has seen 118/119 mph traps by actual owners and does 0-100 in 8.3 second (faster than an m3 or m4 with dct) is slow? You must be driving a 911 Turbo or GTR to say that.
Or do you mean that it makes its power higher in the rev range and rather than losing steam anywhere above 5K RPM as the M3 and M4 do?
Low end torque is nice when you have a strong top end like a Turbo does, but the sound, the visceral feel and suspension of the 991 or Cayman/Boxster chassis' makes the M3/4 feel flat out archaic in comparison in the way it handles and especially in how it soaks up and flows with broken pavement.
There is more to driving than pure power, or we would all have C7's since they are faster than both a 991S or M3 but the 911 will win every time if you care about the tactile feel and pinpoint precision.

Douchebags like that guy are the reason people dont have much of an issue straying from BMW. What an asshole, a 335i would kill him due to weight alone, you were probably just cruising along. Moron.

Are you saying that the m3/m4 do not have a strong top end? If it's not enough of a top end, you throw a tune on it and it's done... and since when does a cayman GTS trap 119 mph? Because if that's true, it should have no problem keeping up w an m4 straighline.

Yes, that's what he implied, and he's correct...an M3/M4 not have "strong top end" regardless of what you do it. If you think it does after looking at the torque-curve, then you have no clue what you're looking at.

No top end, I agree... This will only get you to about 500 whp lol... with a linear curve.

As I said, you don't know what you're talking about nor do you know what a "linear curve" is. And, no...in the context of "top end" and if a car has it or not, outright power is irrelevant.

Source on those Cayman GTS performance figures? I'm a big time Porsche fan, but those numbers are pretty unbelievable, and I couldn't find any posts trapping anywhere near that. Highest I've found is 112mph and 0-100 around low 10s. Are you sure you aren't thinking about the 911 GTS, those number are pretty bang-on with 991 GTS figures.

That makes even less sense. Why are talking about the 911 GTS when this entire thread is about the Cayman GTS vs the M4?

When he was saying 911 turbo or bust.

I would think a cayman GTS with PDK traps maybe 114/115 considering the boxster GTS is 112/113.

Not slow by any means.

There is no longer a "stigma" that surrounds Porsche. We're not in the 90s anymore...the brand has been diluted to oblivion so no one really cares. I don't notice any difference from others weather I'm driving my GF's GT3 or my Chevrolet or Nissan (which speaks volumes considering one is yellow and the others are white).
Lol what? "poor peoples thoughts don't matter?" I know people with enough money to live their life in luxury and pass it down to their kin and still don't know the difference between a Cayman S or a 911 Turbo. Not everyone knows their cars.

If a Porsche doesnt come with a "rich mans car" stigma I don't know what does.
