2014 F30 M Sport Rear Bump Stop Noise

I recently noticed a noise coming from the rear driver's side of the car. After doing some research here someone mentioned to check the bump stop. The drivers side rear is loose and shows a gap and the passenger side is tight with no gap (see pics) 31k miles, will new bump stops resolve this or is there something preventing this driver side wheel from returning all the way up. I've pinpointed the noise to this loose bump stop just not completely sure how to rectify it. (Also not sure if this is adaptive or not, have eco, comfort, sport and sport+ driving modes) Any advice will be much appreciated!

I know im like a year late on this post but did you fix it? Im redoing my suspension and have the same noise same issue. Im thinking new bumpstops should do it when I do my struts.. Over small bumps I always would hear a slight rattling and im almost positive this is it.

I had a noise like that. Turned out to be that the horizontal nut/bolt at the very bottom holding the rear shock in was loose. Tightened it and the noise was gone! See photo
