N57D30A stutters at 1500/1800 rpm partial load
Hello,
I am the new owner of a 2013 f31 330d which has a problem. I’ve got a stutter. When cruising at constant speed of 100-120 km/h about 1500-1800 rpm(it does it around town as well, but it's not quite so noticeable) and then accelerate with a slight pace there's a momentary stutter... then it's fine. Heavy pedal use doesn't see it, it's only on light throttle openings. I have had an diagnostic tool connected while driving and that is also giving weird data on MAP and MAF, it dips slightly when giving the stutter. Also egr value’s fluctuate a lot but always. They go from about 16% to 50% on slight throttle but when more than half throttle is given than they go to 0%(that seems correct). Anyone an idea or indication where to look for or what to do? Thanks! |

You’ll likely notice a big improvement in refinement, and resolving the stutter, if you have the EGR valve coded 100% closed 100% of the time, ie remap. You can also have a physical blaming plate installed between the EGR cooler and the inlet manifold.
Multiple benefits including no sooting of the inlet manifold and inlet ports, cleaner combustion (less diesel clatter) and increased fuel economy.

You would need to get the EGR coded out otherwise the ECU will detect an anomaly between the anticipated values versus actual reported by various sensors.
