If the rear wheel is correct with ET33 I would recommend changing the rear tires to 265/30-20 and keep the old front tires.

F: 8.5x20" ET37, 225/35-20, dia. 666mm
R: 9.5x20" ET33, 265/30-20, dia. 668mm

Differs only by 0.3%.

OEM 20" sizes will work as well, i.e. 225/35-20 front and 255/30-20 rear.

Differs about 0.6% but might be a better choice given the aggressive rear offset.

The sidewall profile of 20" wheels on an F30 is the same as a 19" on an E90, perfect look! That's part of the reason why 19's on the F30 look like 18's on the E90, the overall diameter of the tire has increased significantly making the sidewalls way taller.

If you live in an area with terrible roads (truly terrible! everyone thinks the roads are bad in their area) go with 19", the ride will be better and you will not stress as much while driving.

If you are good at avoiding potholes and want the perfect look, go with 20". There are tons of guys running 20's on the F30 without any issues.

I live in an area with good roads. But already one pothole got me. And I needed to replace a tire. Not interested in 20s because that puts the wheel closer to harm

vertini two tone dynasty wheels 285/25/r20 rear, 245/30/r20 fronts, as for the ones you showed they are nice but the whole rim sticks out not cuncaved so watch curb damage. Wheels are like cars everyone has their own preference.

I just bought a 335i that came with style 361 all black 20's. I've seen some comments saying that 20's on the F30 make the ride too harsh but I don't find that to be the case so far. I don't think I'm gonna lower it though, that might be overkill. What do you think?

Hi Mike

Loving the look of your car
Just put 20" wheels on my f32.
Can you tell me what tire pressure you are running at please.

Thanks very much

My 2012 335i with Sportline has the optional 20", black with red trim wheels. I just put up a post about how bad the P Zero RFTs are, specifically the front. The size is 225/35-20. Even moderate potholes and broken pavement cause almost unbearable suspension impacts. The only hope I have is to switch to non-RFTs.

Anytime 20 inch wheels come up for conversation the haters seem to always complain about curb rash, harsh ride, the odd look and so on. I currently have 19's and will be buying new 20's in the spring. The 3 series is bigger than it ever was and they look great on the car because it's larger than previous generations. Also it was engineered to ride on anything from 17s to 20's. BMW offers a 20 inch upgrade. So to the naysayers I say.....whaaaaaa!!!

I'd recommend that ASAP. My stock run flats were as hard as hockey pucks

From what I've read on this forum the most common tire sizes with a staggered 20 inch set up are 245/35/20f and 275/30/20r but it can vary if the wheels are a bit narrower

Another set of 20's to consider (F30 OEM fitment)

Hope you got some 20's, as they all look good in replied photos.

The offsets are very close to the F30. It's 33 on the front vs. 34/36 of the F30 and 44 rear vs. 47 on the F30.

Where it gets a bit tricky is the overall diameter as you're going from a 225/40 series tire to a 245/40 in the front, and, from a 255/34 series tire to a 275/35 in the rear. I believe this increases the overall diameter to the tune of ~20mm; which affects the speedo some.

The taller F10 tire sizes instead helps to correct the speedo, since all BMW show higher speed than actual.

Speedo is now showing higher or lower speed than before with 20" wheels?

Wondering if that can be coded out?

When taller tires are mounted the speedo show lower speed.

No need to code, since the speedo is close to perfect with F10 tire sizes.
