Thank you.. thought I'd share my experience as it couldn't go any smoother. I went with shawnsheridan's suggestion and 24hours later I have Satellite radio working on my bmw for substantially less than the $1200 dealer quote here in Arizona

here's what you'll need to do if interested.. first verify you have "S693A - Preparation BMW satellite radio" by decoding your VIN here: https://decoder.bvzine.com/

I paid $200 total - $125 for the 6F Sat Radio FSC Code & another $75 for the remote install -- just email warpeddriveservices@gmail.com once you've verified your VIN has S693A

You will need a windows PC/laptop, enet cable, wifi internet, and teamviewer for remote install - I purchased this cable from Amazon and it worked: https://www.amazon.com/OHP-Ethernet-...3169338&sr=8-4

This is a decent savings over Bimmer-tech's solution as well since that cost is $299 for my car. I'm sure if you know what you're doing you can simply buy the 6F Sat Radio FSC Code for $125 and do the install yourself...

in my case, I have no clue about coding so this total solution for $200 (including remote install) worked perfectly - thank you shawnsheridan for the suggestion

New guy here (first post). Searched and read up as much as possible first. Still a tiny bit unclear.

I checked my VIN# and I do have the "S693A - Preparation BMW satellite radio". I also have a Sirius subscription in my outgoing car, but don't see it in the Media options of my new-to-me F31.

So do I simply need an FSC code at this point? (I feel like a clueless grandpa, simply reciting the young people lingo, and barely knowing what it means)

And I can upload the code via USB thumb drive, as I did with a file I purchased to activate Carplay?

What other options (if any) can be activated by an FSC code?

Excuse my cluelessness.

If you did CarPlay activation via USB .bin, it should have included 6F SAT Radio FSC Code meaning only Coding and active SiriusXM subscription should be needed.

Thank you so much for the fast reply!

Ah, didn't know activating Carplay via the .bin file I paid for would also get me the ability to use Sirius.

By "coding" I'm assuming you mean using the following code, which I found in this thread?

1. Added $655 to CAS, FRM, and NFRM
2. Removed $693 from CAS, FRM, and NFRM
3. Turned SDARS to aktiv in KOMBI ECU
Would I do this via BimmerCode? I've been looking into this, but all instructions and information appear to be for/by people who already know a few things I clearly don't. Thanks for the help!

.bin is a full replacement set of all FSC Codes. Supplier should have included SatRadio.

I have no idea on Bimmercode. I don't use it myself.

Sorry, my reference to Bimmercode was in regards to "coding" thinking that aside from having uploaded the .bin file for Carplay (via USB, which I did) I needed to do something further.

I will ask the person from the site I bought the Carplay code for. Right now I have Carplay, but don't see Sirius as an option still.

Under "Media/Radio", I have:

Presets
AM
FM
------
Music Collection
AUX
------
Now Playing in Apple Carplay.

Thanks again. Will report back.

.bin is FSC Code only.

For Coding, change 693 to 655 in FA and VO Code HU_NBT2.

Sorry if my cluelessness makes you cringe...but these changes to the .bin file I received would be made in E-Sys, correct? If so, I'll be looking into installing Bootcamp since I'm a mac user. Again, thanks for your patience. I'm looking at beginner guides here.

Again, the .bin file loaded FSC Codes. Need to verify 6F Sat Radio FSC Code was included as it should have been. Then it needs to be coded with E-Sys.

If I can do this with Bimmer Code (the app) I would be interested as well. You can code almost anything with the app to my knowledge

I'm not familiar with Bimmercode app, I dont use it myself. But beyond Coding, FSC must be imported, which cannot be done with Bimmercode. PM sent.

Need Satellite Code For BMW X1

I'm in the same boat as everyone else; bought a 2017 BMW X1 that (I believe) is wired for satellite radio (at least thats what the Sirius site said), but I don't have the option on my radio. How can I check to see if it has the 693 code..? Also, @shawnsheridan could you please PM me for activating Sirius Xm radio? Thanks in Advance! - Doug

Hi Shawn,

I am interested in activating the satellite ratio in my 2019 X3 - and it seems like you're the guy in the know! If you can pm with details, it'd be appreciated!
Thanks!
