Aftermarket Paddle shifter selection
Please show me some of the selection. Preferably a full shifter replacement, meaning i have to transfer the electronics, instead of just sticking 3m to existing shifter. Carbon is ok, metals also ok, plastics ok too as long as it looks good and reasonably priced.
I have the M sport shifter, not the f80 shifter. Thank you. |

I finally went with the MMR Performance billet aluminum paddles & I am very pleased with their style + looks (Dark Anthracite) + the fact they are very sturdy, do not flex at all when used so shifts are as crisp as they can get
I actually painted the + & - indents with red paint to stand out more & match my red stripe steering wheel They mount directly to your OEM paddle modules just as OEM paddles Have to order from Evolve Automotive out of the UK but their shipping was fast & it was only 48 from UK to US

Tacking on to this thread ... I'm piecing together a M-Sport wheel for my F30 parts car. Would I be a complete idiot for buying these full-function paddles off ebay?

They are cheaper even of all you use if the backs off tehm, than trying to source just the back to use with true f80 paddles. You won’t use the electronics so I wouldn’t look down on anyone who bought them and used the paddle amd back… but I would absolutely not use the electronics they come with.
To answer the above question posed to me, yes. But the f80 are two piece, paddle plus back where the Msport or one piece. You have to have backs to swap over to f80 paddles, OEM or aftermarket. Usually what you see for sale is paddle only, not back, though some aftermarket companies will include backs if you ask or will note they come with new backs… and others simply do not because their target market is M owners who don’t need them.

Great choice, I also went for the anthracite MMR paddles and used some red matt enamel paint to fill the + and -
As you commented they're super rigid and feel like pure quality.

I recognize it's a roll of the dice, so i'll be the champagne-tester for us all and report back on whether they work, or if i have fucked myself out of $60. Fingers crossed.

I currently have a M-Sport line wheel (OEM paddles equip). Have people install MMR Performance billet aluminum paddles or other paddles to the sport line wheel? I research the MMR and it fits gen 1 and 2 M-Performance wheel which looks the same as the M-Sport line wheel.
