Thx dude, they were new right out of an M2 Comp. The advantage with M2 seats is the leather matches the F3X Dakota leather.

Are they direct fit to the f30? I’ve been looking at the f80 seats and in the UK for a used one are averaging £1500 😩😩😩

The folding seats out of an M2 or M4 need to be torn apart and rewired. This was my second time doing this as I had M4 seats in my previous 328. It went much faster this time around.

Nice little upgrade to my ambient lighting, used an extra set of led modules and some optic fibre to back light my door speakers.

That’s a good idea!! I like that look seeing the speaker light up with the ambient lighting

Your ambient light is soo much brighter than mine. I can just see mine during nighttime driving…

The photo gives slightly a false impression on the brightness as they are not that bright in reality. But I am really happy with how it came out and using a Y cable no cable cutting either

I have ordered a set of upgraded led from Benzinfrabik.

I know that they they upgrade the led’s in the lci life cycle. Which could be your issue what year is your F30 ?

Benzinfrabik look a really easy and good option to upgrade the ambient lights well worth checking out

Benzinfabrik has great products, love my blue/white upgraded ambient lighting. Have swapped out the door cards and footwell lights and waiting on the radio trim modules to ship.

Thanks. Initially I got a Govee footwell RGB LED set using the 12V socket under the glovebox, but I rewired it to be a single long wire instead of it splitting into two, as I found it easier to route cables around the center console, it needed a bit of mix and match in order to reach between the 2 back seats. I also the removed the physical controls. (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07...?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I used safetypins to hold the LEDs for the back seats, as the double sided tape didn't work. However, the included RGB controller does not save state or color, so I had to switch it to a different one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/36331216726...53.m2749.l2649

Then to make it a bit more seamless, I hid the controller etc. behind the passenger glovebox cover, made a Y-splitter and got 12V from the cigarette socket (https://www.ebay.com/itm/27319147129....m2749.l2649):

Next step for me to get it more integrated, is to tap a 12V wire from the B-pillar lights directly to the LED strip, bypassing the controller (i.e. only R-G-B goes from the controller to the LED strip). This way the controller always gets 12V from the socket, but the LED lights now turns on etc. like the dashboard and brightness can be controlled by the knob by the headlight switches

I hope it makes sense....

Besides the above, you'll need some 4-pin male and female RGB connectors, makes your life much easier and a DC male plug.

Wow .. okay
Very well written and informative !

You say next step is to tap into the wire from the b-pillar lights - do you have retrofitted lights in the b-pillar ?

Snazzy. Do you have some sort of splitter and are tapping off of the door ambient light connector?

So just to be clear and to make sure we're in the same boat …

You don't have the ambient lighting package .. so no OEM footwell lights, no door lighting and no cup holder lights.. right ?

But you are certain that you can get the mod described here to work with the current lighting that came with the car meaning once the dash lights up in orange due to the light sensors registering night time then the lights in the footwells will turn on ? Is my assumption on point or am I reading too much into your explanation ?

Basically my F34 came with no lighting whatsoever .. so I tried retrofitting the lci a/c trim, but as I had no cup light or footwell lights there was nowhere to tap into for power and light control. My FEM is only mid version and I honestly can't be bothered with fitting a new fem module so I'm looking for some way of retrofitting light to the interior it's not just the lights coming off of the dash…

No, I don't have any light package, I only have aftermarket footweel light, my FEM is ZB4-MID :/ according to the Ace320 video description, you can control the B-pillar light brightness from headlight switch:

I have not done it yet, but by tapping power to a aftermarket LED strip from the cables, it should work like I write. Hopefully I'll receive the package this month, you can wait and see
