B46/48 Common coolant leak in smaller SECONDARY system?
Just got the car few weeks ago, replace multiple lines, water outlet, water pump, oil filter housing etc that seems fine now. When I got the car the smaller reservoir was straight water and seems I have to keep topping it off, seems its obviously going somewhere. I have a lift, and have had everything apart and I do not see any signs of leaking anywhere. That system is not even pressurized is it? Any common places to check maybe otherwise hard to see? I've heard something about rocks hitting something that could be part of the secondary system? If its not pressurized, not really a chance it could be cap then?

I haven’t seen any common leaks with that circuit.
Only thing I would say is use a UV dye kit to see if you can find the leak. Leaking water will be difficult to spot. When searching for issues I believe people call it the “low temp” circuit. Phrasing may help the search. This could also be an internal leak in the intake manifold, but I have no way to verify that. |
