Are 328i Tuning modules legit?

Ones like this one http://afepower.com/afe-power-77-46303-scorcher-module

Claims to add +38hp and +49lbs of torque

I just bought a 2013 328i w 44k miles on it and learning all about BMWs.

Are these lil tuning modules legit or will it just destroy my car slowly over time lol ?

Thanks yall!

I'm sure it's legit. It's going to increase your boost a bit more to give you extra horsepower (turbo only cars).

They may work, but there's no such thing as a free lunch. If a major performance boost that didn't impact reliability could be realized that easily BMW would offer them.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm still on the fence with purchasing something like this.

Any main tuners like this that people like?

That's the operative question. Colin Chapman (Lotus) was quoted as saying that the perfect racing car was one that fell apart ten feet past the finish line, after having won the race. He also said "You won't catch me driving a race car that I have built". Maximum performance and maximum longevity are mutually exclusive.

Just do a search on piggy back tunes. One very popular one is Bms stage 1 and Bms jb4.

I have had the bms stage 1 for a year and recentlyl switched to jb4. The power difference is night and day. Transforms the vehicle

The bms tune has been around long enough to make your own judgement on reliability

Personally i think they are fine
