I think you should also code the FEM with the 3AG because there is a new connection..
My retrofit for the Rear view camera it's been a while, so I can't remember exactly which modules I had to code.

I did already coded all modules with 3AG option (I mean VO code the ECU not FDL) except the NBT that gives an error when I try to code it.

So don't know what to do by now ?

one more info, I've updated all modules (flashed) but the NBT still appears in ISTA+ as "needed to be updated", battery charging right now, I'm gonna retry later with ista+ to see in tree window wich version appears for NBT, maybe a clue ?

There is diferent hwel so like your HU NBT is not compatible with 3AG option.

I just saw your first posting "ISTA error saying no FBAS connection" and "I connected wires following doc EBA 361831".
So i checked the EBA 361831 and i think i found a mistake
At the connection table is written
FBAS- to A42*1B Pin 22
FBAS+ to A42*1B Pin 21
Shield to A42*1B Pin 23

But at all wiring diagrams, Pin assignment overview and other EBA the FBAS- is connected to A42*1B Pin 24.
So if you connected the FBAS- to Pin 22 you should change it to Pin 24.

is that not coming from a NBT bad istep version ?

Because before battery was down, I started an ISTA+ and "HU_H" was the only line left to appear as "have to be updated" in update section all other modules were masked (so I assume those other modules had the good istep version ? should be something like 25 03)

If you look esys with 3AG and without you will see diferent. Probably you start ista with 3AG option in FA that why showing update.

ok so I'm gonna try to set FA with no 3AG and see if it changes something in "update" page of ISTA+ to be sure that my NBT doesn't have something

So without 3AG HU_H and TRSVC appear on update page because ISTA plans to remove TRSVC in "mesure plan" ... so my new question how to change NBT, and how to be sure it would be able to connect to my camera ? thanks

So my only one solution seems to be replacing the NBT... and I need another help here

when I give VIN to BMW ETK with my FA options it gives the reference "6512 9 289 609", I add 3AG option (camera) it gives "6512 9 289 610".

I've reopen my car dashboard to take photo of my NBT and the number on it is 6512 (CI) 9 311 034 (01) so nothing to do with 609 or 610 ? any help welcome !

EDIT : following link to info page in ETK gives following infos : no 3AG = 6512 9 281 983 / with 3 AG = 6512 9 281 984
With RealOEM I'm a bit lost, so do I replace mine with 6512 9 281 984 or with newer 6512 9 281 983 ?

I just checked your car with the original parts catalog and it gives me the same part number as you found, the 6512 9 289 610.
Without 3AG it gives me the ...609 too.

For the other part numbers I did not find a clear result.

But you also can install many other part numbers which are intended for more equipment without a problem.
For example

65126826783 or
65129325975 or
65129325976 or
65129289611

is with 3AG, 5DL, 6AE, 6NR, 6NS.
All equipment which your car does not have but the HU would be prepared for it.

Hi I'm back with news, So I bought used nbt on eBay and got finally after coding with my VIN the module (not FDL) the camera !!!

So now I have two problems... 1st the used nbt is kind of ticking at init any idea, is it already dying ?

and as expected, navigation and update software are both grayed out.

So after reading a bit I started tool32 with command like _steuern...persistancy_with_swt giving argument SWT then other command like position_repair

the second one did worked because the position in the corresponding menu is now unchecked but navigation and update options are still grayed out

Of course you still need activation codes to activate the navigation.

if you mean FSC code of course, I already did the activation previously with my original NBT (with fsc generator 1b file etc...) but to go there with my used NBT I need to be able to access to navigation or to update but with grayed out menu I don't see how, and my attempts to remove old FSC were vain

No, the 1b Code is the map Code for a new Road Map.
To activate the Navigation you need another code.
This is a protection by BMW so that you can not steal a HU and easy build in your car.
But there are people who can create such activation codes.

Or you can use such an emulator.
