I had some guy in a 4 Series parked in front of my car tell me that he liked my M4. Check my signature to see if I have an M4.

Anyway, thanks for the input I can see where this thread is going. It's kinda funny that a lot of people here in Asia actually like these M mirrors but not at OEM price of $2000 for a set.

They like the style, but not in a way so that they can mimic the M3/M4. Aesthetic is just so objective there isn't a right or wrong, but just whether if you'd do it or not. We got F32 guys here putting GT style wings and whole bunch of mods and we also got M3/M4 guys who leave their cars plain stock.

At the end of the day we mod our cars because we like it and we want it not just to impress people... unless I am wrong?

If you don't get the sarcasm that it is not the owners putting M badges on the car that dilutes the brand, but BMW itself. (former E46 M3 owner).

Totally aware that BMW themselves do it, but a majority of owners do it themselves as well. Honestly it's their car, they can do whatever they want. Still doesn't change my mind about it though

Posing is never a good idea because it's shallow.

If someone wants an ///M4, who's stopping them from just buying or leasing one?

Faking your way in life to the cheap shortcuts only ensures you'll never really have what you want, which is the level of acceptance and satisfaction that comes with earning what you covet.

Non-enthusiasts may not know the difference, by who are they to impress anyway, and why would their opinion count?

Ever bring that thing around some real owners and will only get flamed and have to live with the shame. This only matters because shaming shallow people actually does effect them.

An F32 M Sport alone is a very nice looking car, so enjoy it until you're ready for an ///M4.

Bottom line is do what you want. You will always get opinions from both sides positive & negative.

Yesterday at the parking lot. Couple of guys come by "cool car" then ask all about it.

Before I can strap in a lady walks up & says my husband, points to a SUV, wants to know it that is a real car. My response: "yes its a real car but not an original". She yelled back to her husband with the answer & marched off to the supermarket.

Yes as they would likely add .0005 HP and lower coefficient of drag

Care to explain why you think adding mirrors from one model to another is posing?

I shouldn't have to explain any further beyond what I already wrote. You can disagree, but you could also be a poseur.

You do have to explain. M2 with M3/M4 mirrors is posing? Your argument is specious. No one is claiming to have an M3/M4 by running M3 mirrors, but I suppose you already knew that and are just trolling....

Some real owners you say? I've owned M cars, I don't think its posing. What I think is silly is non M cars like yours (and mine), being plastered with so many ///M badges when they are not M cars.

Level of acceptance? Acceptance by whom? The only person that matters is yourself, if you bought a non M car because that is what you wanted, whose acceptance are you craving? You have some wierd ideas that everyone aspires to own an M car, and you are wrong there too

I don't think its posing. Its basically just an accessory or an add on/body kit item. I have an M sport 328i and its just a 328i with a bodykit and the better steering wheel and 704 suspension. Now, if I threw an M badge on the rear and it said M 328i, that would be posing, big time.

I just think these mirrors are ricey, thats all.
