2018 430 GC Lease Buyout
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Given market conditions it appears to be a no brainer to buyout my car. I'm looking for opinions on whether CPO'ing the car makes sense.
My residual is 26k, 29,500 miles. The buyout with 2 remaining payments, sales tax, property tax (CT) is $29k. That would come down to approx 28k if I simply wait to lease end. To CPO it, I'd get new tires (needed), fixing of curb rash on one wheel, one minor ding removed, a full warranty out to 2023 with unlimited mileage (I would need to better understand what this covers), plus the typical BMW CPO inspection process. Was quoted 34k. MSRP at 31,400. On the surface this feel high to me. This did include the 500 returning customer rebate. But also has 1k in doc/government fees (clearly way too high). Anyway hope this is enough to get some opinions. Thanks again. |

I dont think all the fixes you mentioned cost you the extra 6K to make it a CPO. If I was going to buy a used car I'd go CPO, but its your car and you know if there are any major issues. To me, its a no brainer to not make it a CPO and buy it out.

Basically you are paying for the warranty for the next 2.5 years and new tires. The bodywork is not extensive. Seems very high but I think it reflects the crazy used car market now. They might hope you actually turn it in so it can go for even higher.
Find a comparable warranty and skip CPO or stick with them if their warranty means a lot to you. |
