Many states require you to see the doctor with a short time frame (14 days in Florida for example). If you do not, you lose access to PIP and must pay all Doctors bills instead of the Insurance Company.

If you waited 6 weeks in Florida to get to the Specialist, you would lose many of your rights. I doubt you need to go to a PCP for a referral as auto insurance would be paying the bill, not your Healthcare Insurance.

And yes,, you can sue to get the money eventually, but you are responsible for those Doctor's bill until you go through several years of the Court System and the Insurance Company is not. It further weakens your claim of Injury the longer you wait.

Doubt the Indy shops are aware of this.

In almost all cases, you need a new bumper as per BMW.

Unfortunately, most appraisers are also unaware of this and want the old bumper repaired cheaply - or a non-OEM Bumper purchased.

You can use an Indy Shop. But get the Bumper(s) replaced with OEM Parts.
My insurance policy specs OEM parts and the indy shop has a great reputation. The bumper was replaced.

Sadly, I think technology has passed them by, kind of like the old TV tube testing machine at the drug store. You'd pull out the vacuum tubes in your TV and bring them in to find out which one needed to be replaced.

My insurance company told me to select a body shop to have the vehicle repaired. My question is how does warranty work once a body shop fixes a vehicle? Is the BMW OEM warranty still valid if OEM parts are used for the repair?

The global imports bmw collision shop near me didnt have good reviews so decided to go with a collision shop near me that works on Tesla’s, European and exotic cars.
Sorry to hear about this. Hope you are OK. As others mentioned See a MD and if you had a police report then have the police report amended with the statement from the MD. Amend the accident report with insurance company that you had to see a MD. Document yourself well in case. Be well and safe.

looking at the hood damage on the front right, what are your opinions, should it be replaced or repaired?

Obviously should go without saying, get everything you can replaced instead of repaired.

Huh? Really? From the pics, it didn't look too bad. What pushed it over the top?

With the vehicle being in such good condition and mileage being so low, they would have had to replace a lot of parts (body, suspension, steering, wheel, etc.) costing upwards of $25k in repairs. I asked for all brand new and OEM parts of course (no repair or refurbished) Financially made more sense to total it. I assume they will salvage the car somehow.

I only had it for 20 months and 13k miles, sigh!

I am not quite sure. Did some searching last night but couldn?t nail it down to any one. I did like my car quite a bit but not sure if I want to get the same one. Would rather wait for a refresh in terms of interior and features from BMW on the 4 series but I assume that won?t be for another 2 years at least.

Looked at the Audi A5 sport back which looks real nice especially from the back. However im not too keen on what they did with the front of the car. In my head, the front and back have two different personalities I think. The interior looks way better than what I had in my gran coupe but I have yet see it in person.

Lexus, infinity, Acura don?t have anything for me. I have yet to look at the jag XE and the Alpha Romeo.

What are you guys thoughts?

I know this close to the "new" G30 3-series (about a year), there's NO WAY I'd buy an F30. I'd look at the A5 or Giulia. I'd suggest Cadillac as well except they're also due for replacement in two years.

Yeah that?s right. I am not too keen on the 3 series because they are too common and besides I am a huge fan of the sloping roofs and hatch trunks on the gran coupe. But the problem is I would need a car in the next few weeks. First world problems!!

What’s your experience been with Audi in comparison with BMW?

If what you really want is coming out in 12 mos just assume someone's lease via swap lease. There are TONS of cars available with a year left on them.

Ha! Well, I've used AudiA4 as a screen name for years. I used to own a 1998 A4 1.8T 6MT Sport. LOVED that car. It was unique at the time (before Audi became more ubiquitous), but as time marched on, I've felt Audi's designs have gone from top of class to also-ran. I had high hopes for the new (current) A4 and S4, but goodness...they look almost as vanilla as the outgoing model.

I do very much like the S5 Sportback though, and Audi interiors are fantastic. I love the new digital TFT dashboard.

I caught myself looking more at your brake dust than your damage. Hope everything goes well!

So I went and test drove the sport back last night. Audi has done a great job with the interior and yes the virtual cockpit is amazing! Few things that made me not consider it: the drive, even in sport mode, it just didn?t come alive like my bmw. The bangolufsen sound system didn?t do it for me for some reason. Notes weren?t as crisp, even my wife had the same opinion and compared it to the HK. Finally, the idrive was much easier to use than their version. The salesman struggled to pair my phone so I could test out the sound system with my music. I will say it?s a well made car though but the things that are important to me weren?t better than the BMW I had.

I will go test drive the Alpha Giulia today/tomorrow.

Haha yeah, I would usually wash my car every 2 weeks but because of my wedding, didn?t get to care for it in two months and then it got wrecked.

I will say though, the brake dust was a lot for most people but didn?t bother me too much with the orbit grey wheels.
